Solomon said: “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.”

God’s focus is sanctification and how our life experiences will make us holier and accomplish the mission He’s designed for us each. Marriage is a tool within His arsenal. It isn’t the only one.

The question we must ask ourselves is how God benefits from our unions? Our desires aren’t the lone reason for its undertaking. In fact, without Him it’s hard to stay the course.

Amen to that. Jesus have your way in us sinners. His promise is loyal. I have been placed in this word to grow in Him and I believe my season will come.

It is my opinion that you desire to marry. But you don’t want the desire to overshadow God and that’s understandable. It is an idol for some.

We are fearfully and wonderfully made. Fashioned by the Potter’s hands. He knit us each according to His preferences.

We needn’t deny the things of God He’s placed within us. Or fear we’ll betray our Creator upon their receipt. To deny who we are and what we’ve been given is to deny Him as well.

I want to do His will and know marriage would glorify Him. He’s prepared me for that path. I need a wise companion at my side whose priority is Him. And that isn’t plentiful. But I trust Him.

dude, if you want to marry than get married. if you don't, then don't. you're not doing anything wrong or betraying the LORD in whatever you choose to do here. I really think this subject gets spiritualized more than it should and is more pragmatic than many of us would like to believe.

for some, singleness may be a season and for others they may not be at a stage of personal development to be eligible for marriage. marriage is not a right we are entitled to but a privilege we must earn.

I agree and haven’t witnessed the same for other subjects. However, that’s a double-edged sword. The pragmatic approach you’re suggesting has come under fire many times. Including here.

You can’t be practical without exercising judgment. And that’s often the problem. Many believe that faith should trump everything else. But that is rarely the reason relationships go awry. Idealism usually ends in disappointment.

I am in a season of being widowed and alone. Only God knows if this is a temporary season or a permanent state of my life. It doesn't do me any good to spend too much time thinking about it because that becomes self-focused thought and can damage my spirit. I need to focus on the day before me and what it offers and what I can do to serve God. Much more constructive use of my time.

why do you chose the celibacy? do you prefer to be alone? why

I'm asexual. I don't want sex or kids and it's just easier to write off even trying to find someone who's the same as I feel those types shouldn't marry as it kind of disregards God's design for marriage. Celibate marriage is kind of an oxymoron too.

^ I’m not opposed to very much if God willing someone comes along and God arranges it but it’s not going to be me alone that does it lol. It WILL take God himself to bring me out of celibacy as no human will have that power alone to do so.
