  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What wonderful copying and pasting! A little less than half of what Elder Canright says here is absolutely true. The rest strains credulity. The most successful deceptions are those which contain the most truth. This is the devil's absolute favorite snare. In this sense, you have fallen for kids' stuff. The devil needn't even break a sweat for you.

Tell me: How much of Canright's work have you actually read? How much of his work do you think I have read? (Again, 30 years of interest in this subject) Have you read some of the glowing testimonies previously authored and published by him in support of Mrs. White's ministry? The self-contradiction is marvelous to behold, to the point that only two options are possible to the rational mind: 1) He had suffered the onset of mental illness or; 2) He allowed some sin to take root in his soul to the extent that he could no longer acknowledge truth.

I would recommend to you all of the writings of Mrs. White's critics to prayerfully see if you can indeed discern the spirit at work in them.

Now it is easy to see that because you have been such an advocate for the SDA you have learned that the best way to discuss things is to use "Sarcasm" and the Attack the messenger method.

Now you can post all you want to but the bottom line is that according to the official Statement on Doctrine by the SDA, accepting Jesus as your personal Saviour is NOT sufficient to be saved.

Bible Scripture says in Ephesians 2:8-9 that...…….
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

SDA's teach that the life a person lives must be taken into account, even after they have died. SDA's believe exclusively in a doctrine called the "Investigative Judgment" where Christ enters into the Holy of Holies in Heaven to decide whether or not we are "worthy" to enter Heaven.

"In the winter of 1844, seventeen-year-old Ellen Harmon, who would later become Ellen White, began having visions that gradually confirmed Edson’s spiritual interpretation of the Great Disappointment. She strongly supported Miller’s prophetic calculations, making William Miller the father of Seventh-day Adventist theology in the sense that all SDA theology stems from the premise that the cleansing of the sanctuary began on October 22, 1844. As Ellen White stated, “The correct understanding of the ministration in the heavenly sanctuary is the foundation of our faith” (Ev 221).

Is that a correct statement or is it also a lie?????

I can answer the question for everyone right now...NO!!!

NO ONE is worthy of heaven!

Statements from 1914? Really?

1. Materiality of things---what in the world does that mean?
2. Believe in the sonship of Christ? Are you serious? Are you under the impression Christianity does not believe in Jesus being the son of God??!!! Yes--we do believe He is the Son of God, as such---He is God. What do you believe?
3.Yes, we do believe we have an accurate rendering of the prophecies. So does every church and Christian preacher out there.
4. And who doesn't teach that? From Jesus on up we are to preach the soon coming of Jesus, do you teach something else--like don't worry---He isn't coming back? What is soon to us is something else entirely to God.
5. Yes, we have always taught that, still do---and? What do you know about what the cleansing the of the sanctuary meant? What do you know about the work of Jesus as our High Priest? Read Hebrews.
7. Please state a verse that says God changed the 4th commandment from Saturday to any other day.
8. Yes, it was set up by God for the upkeep of the ministry -- first so the priests could minister to their duties, with the apostles so they could tend to the preaching of the gospel. Are you under the impression that God has a money tree in the backyard of the church to take care of the ministry so they can due their duties?
9. Yes, and it is the very same Holy Spirit that leads the world today.
10. Totally false---the bible must be interpreted by the bible. Including in regards to prophecies--we use scripture to interpret scripture. What do you do?
11. Absolutely! Does you church not teach that???
12. Yes! Totally biblical---Jesus Himself called it sleep.
13. Absolutely!!! God says there will be no more sin! As long as there is a sinner living, there is sin.
It is a totally biblical teaching. Do you believe that Jesus and the angels have nothing better to do than to watch people writhing in agony for all eternity?
Rev_14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
14. No--that is Mormonism. We believe God has His faithful in all churches.
15. No--we do not teach that.
16. Total rubbish! Right after the 144,000 there is this:
Rev 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

hence we love all people, Christian or not, SDA or not, and fellowship with them. We rent our churches to other denominations and they rent from us. And we most certainly do preach our believes to everybody!! You don't?

So we see that you really didn't want any sources listed at all did you?

In response to #16 just to pick out one.

The number 144,000 represents a problem for Ellen White. In various of her early writings, (Testimonies, Volume 1, p.59; Early Writings, p.14; Word to the Little Flock, p.14, etc), Mrs. White said that there will be literally 144,000 saints that will live until Jesus comes.

"Soon we heard the voice of God like many waters, which gave us the day and hour of Jesus coming. The living Saints, 144,000 in number, knew and understood the voice. Then Jesus’ silver trumpet sounded as he descended. He gazed on the grave of the sleeping Saints and cried, ‘awake, awake, awake’. The graves opened and the dead came up clothed with immortality. The 144,000 shouted ‘alleluia’ as they recognized their friends who had been torn from them by death, and in the same moment we were changed and caught up together with them." (Experiences and Views. p.11-13).

When the book that preceded, The Great Controversy, called Spiritual Gifts, was printed in 1860, this phrase was omitted. It does not appear in any later editions of The Great Controversy. Apparently the brethren judged that it could cause a "great controversy" to say that only 144,000 would be saved, when there are many more members in the church!

She taught later that those who die under what they call the third angel's message will be resurrected before Christ comes, and will take their places among the 144,000.

"When the voice of God came, the graves were shaken open, and those who died in faith under the third angel's message, came forth from their dusty beds glorified to hear the covenant of peace." Following this is the general resurrection. She says: "The earth mightily shook as the voice of the Son of God called forth the sleeping saints. They responded to the call and came forth clothed with glorious immortality crying ‘victory, victory’ over death and the grave." (Spiritual Gifts, Volume 1, p.205-208).

Mrs. White was mistaken again for she died in 1915 and therefore the vision was false. She was also wrong in stating that there would be only 144,000 "living saints" at the hour of Jesus coming (p.59).

The Bible says they would be without number. "After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;" (Revelation7:9).

Please quote where she said that.

The man who attempts to keep the commandments of God from a sense of obligation merely—because he is required to do so—will never enter into the joy of obedience. He does not obey. When the requirements of God are accounted a burden because they cut across human inclination, we may know that the life is not a Christian life. True obedience is the outworking of a principle within. It springs from the love of righteousness, the love of the law of God. The essence of all righteousness is loyalty to our Redeemer. This will lead us to do right because it is right—because right doing is pleasing to God. {COL 97.3}
The great truth of the conversion of the heart by the Holy Spirit is presented in Christ’s words to Nicodemus: “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born from above, he can not see the kingdom of God.... That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh and whither it goeth. So is every one that is born of the Spirit.” John 3:3-8, margin. {COL 98.1}
The apostle Paul, writing by the Holy Spirit, says, “God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.” Ephesians 2:4-8. {COL 98.2}
The leaven hidden in the flour works invisibly to bring the whole mass under its leavening process; so the leaven of truth works secretly, silently, steadily, to transform the soul. The natural inclinations are softened and subdued. New thoughts, new feelings, new motives, are implanted. A new standard of character is set up—the life of Christ. The mind is changed; the faculties are roused to action in new lines. Man is not endowed with new faculties, but the faculties he has are sanctified. The conscience is awakened. We are endowed with traits of character that enable us to do service for God. {COL 98.3}

"But man cannot transform himself by the exercise of his will. He possesses no power by which this change can be effected. The leaven—something wholly from without—must be put into the meal before the desired change can be wrought in it. So the grace of God must be received by the sinner before he can be fitted for the kingdom of glory. All the culture and education which the world can give will fail of making a degraded child of sin a child of heaven. The renewing energy must come from God. The change can be made only by the Holy Spirit. All who would be saved, high or low, rich or poor, must submit to the working of this power. {COL 96.2}
As the leaven, when mingled with the meal, works from within outward, so it is by the renewing of the heart that the grace of God works to transform the life. No mere external change is sufficient to bring us into harmony with God. There are many who try to reform by correcting this or that bad habit, and they hope in this way to become Christians, but they are beginning in the wrong place. Our first work is with the heart. {COL 97.1}

NO ONE is worthy of heaven!

And who said we are??
