  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am wondering what Scripture Memory "Programs" have worked for you people in the past. I have used a system from Jack Van Impe's website: www.jackvanimpe.com and have been doing it for a year now, and it has been fantastic.

Basically you use index cards. Reference on one side, verse on the other - For one week you quote the verse out loud, saying the reference before and after the verse, 7 times a day (that I've learned is a very important part, to say it out loud). The next week you quote the verse out loud 2 times a day, and the third week, you quote the verse out loud once a day. Then for three months you quote the verse once a week, and after the three months, you just rehearse the verse once every three months.

I've found this system to work wonderfully for me. And it is so awesome to have Sripture right at the tip of my mind when I need it in different situations (usually when I'm tempted to sin). So, what has worked for you all?
