Hello all,
I am always working on trying to bring every thought into subjection to Christ. I believe controlling our thought life is of utmost importance to us as Christians. If we are not careful, we will allow our minds to dwell on things that will either cause us to worry and not trust God or will tempt us to act in an ungodly manner.
Lately I have been realizing the importance of meditating on the Word of God. Psalm 1 says that the person who meditates on God's Word will be happy and prosperous. Isaiah 26:3 says "thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee" and Colossians 3 tells us to :"let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom."
I think it is important not only to read our Bibles every day, but to take certain portions of Scripture and think about them throughout our day. How much more peaceful our lives would be if we replaced our anxious or ungodly thoughts with thoughts about Scripture and about our Lord who saved us! As for worrying about things, we do not accomplish anything by doing that. Sure we have to think about our problems and come up with practical solutions, but there comes a point when we've done all of that we can do, and if we keep thinking about situations it will cause us great distress rather than move us toward solving anything. So I would like to encourage myself and everyone who reads this to work on thinking about Jesus and His Word throughout our daily lives.
Blessings.
