Hello all,

I am always working on trying to bring every thought into subjection to Christ. I believe controlling our thought life is of utmost importance to us as Christians. If we are not careful, we will allow our minds to dwell on things that will either cause us to worry and not trust God or will tempt us to act in an ungodly manner.

Lately I have been realizing the importance of meditating on the Word of God. Psalm 1 says that the person who meditates on God's Word will be happy and prosperous. Isaiah 26:3 says "thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee" and Colossians 3 tells us to :"let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom."

I think it is important not only to read our Bibles every day, but to take certain portions of Scripture and think about them throughout our day. How much more peaceful our lives would be if we replaced our anxious or ungodly thoughts with thoughts about Scripture and about our Lord who saved us! As for worrying about things, we do not accomplish anything by doing that. Sure we have to think about our problems and come up with practical solutions, but there comes a point when we've done all of that we can do, and if we keep thinking about situations it will cause us great distress rather than move us toward solving anything. So I would like to encourage myself and everyone who reads this to work on thinking about Jesus and His Word throughout our daily lives.

Blessings.

I believe this is living in Christ and letting Him live through us so that the world can see the glory of his righteousness in our lives. Bless you also.

i agree completely...

worrying is not something a personwho rests in Christ ever needs to do - isn't that astounding!!!!! EVERYTHING is taken care of by Him and His plan is perfect. I take great comfort in that!!

Just a quick thing that happened to me the other day that funnily enough seems to tie in with the OP exactly:

I work with guide Dogs for the blind. The dogs were being particularly noisy and messy. i was totally stressed out. A dog jumped up and scratched all down my legs (I had shorts on) I really yelled at him and a supervisor came in and told me off quite severly (for yelling at the dog unecessarily).

I got reallly upset and started thinking things like: what if they think I'm no good at this job, what if they've all been talking about me, what if i'm not really giving this job my all, what if i haven;t got as much patience as I thought etc etc.

Then i stopped and gave it all to God. went for lunch and read the bible and prayed all lunch hour. I got back and my dogs were silent clean and obedient!! thats very very unusual!

Praise the Lord!!!!!

I love your story about the dogs. Isn't it awesome when we have rested in the Lord and see the results of it. Bless you and may you prosper. Your vocation is one which serves man as the Lord would serve man by giving of yourself to benefit another.

May you always know the peace of Jesus our Lord.
