The Foot Of The Throne​

All things are possible if men but pray
And if God did but limit to a day,
The time in which He'd note the upward glance,
Or fix the place, or name the circumstance,
When, where or why petitions could be brought,
Their presence would at His feet be sought.​

But since He hearteh prayer any time,
For anything, in any place, or clime,
Men lightly value heaven's choicest gift,
And all to seldom do their souls uplift
Pleading at the foot of the Throne of Grace.

A young woman went through the grocery check-out, but did not have enough money to pay for her purchase. I watched an older woman next in line reach into her wallet and pull out a couple extra bills which she then gave to the young woman for the outstanding balance. ​

In 1974, our whole family was crammed into an Oldsmobile for the move from california to Arizona. At 11a.m. on July 12, the engine blew 273 miles from Tucson (I knew this because the sign taunted me for two days). With little money and no hope close by, my stepdad had no choice but to hitch to Yuma where a friend could get us a ride home. That left my mom and six kids sitting in a car for 18 hours. Strangers helped on both sides of this trial - my stepdad got almost nonstop rides to Yuma, and we were given water from people stopping by. When we told folks we couldn't repay their generosity, they told us to pass it on.

In May 1994, I was just out of the Army and heading to south Texas when I passed a disabled car on the highway. The driver was a young Marine still in uniform and his wife and newborn child. I turned around, got them a wrecker and a motel room out of my discharge money. When the Marine tried to get my address to repay me as he could, I told him words that I'm sure have the Lord's approval: Just pass it on.

God's given us a wallet without a bottom or credit limit. In it is abounding love, meant to be given freely and joyfully to the people in our lives, all of them. So, if you feel loved today, by all means, pass it on.

Do you remember those childhood days in elementary school? In every class there was always a loner, who was not well accepted by the rest of the class for some silly thing. The glasses or the clothes they wore or just the uniqueness of their looks scared off the other children. Some were labeled odd. Well. . .I was the child who would befriend the rejected. Though they appeared different to me at first, they became utterly beautiful to me as time moved forward and I got to know their heart and soul. The first outcast I befriended was in kindergarden. I was five years old.​

From eternal separation from Him
But also from heaven
So that we can be in heaven with Him
On that glorious day when He will come back again
