  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

New information has been revealed in the Holy Bible that must be taken seriously. The new information is concerning Judgment Day; and the ensuing destruction of the universe. For someone who has read the Holy Bible this scripture may come to mind, “No man knows the day or the hour”. This statement was spoken by Christ Jesus almost 2000 years ago when the New Testament Era was just beginning. Who is Jesus Christ? He is the Savior who came out from God in heaven as the outward manifestation of God’s love for mankind, to show man what is the true and righteous way to a life with the Holy God in heaven. After Christ Jesus was killed His words and works were recorded by His disciples, who were His eye witnesses and humble servants for the remainder of their lives here. Their divinely inspired record completed the Holy Bible. And now that the LORD God has finished His guide book for man, could He have placed the secret of the last days within the Holy Bible only to reveal the secrets at a time appointed near the end? Would He not highly exalt His name for this? Would not the LORD be glorified greatly for this?
Good examples of “scripture blindness” are the prophecies in the Old Testament of the birth, purpose, death and resurrection of the Savior; these prophecies were not understood by the Jewish priests of that day. The Son of God, who came down from heaven, was crucified upon a tree on the Passover Day in AD 33 by worldly men because they did not know who He was, and yet the Old Testament foretold of His coming. The type of Savior the Jewish people were expecting was a conquering military and political genius who would be unstoppable to defeat all their enemies and make them a great nation upon the earth; and Christ Jesus was the complete opposite of their expectations.
Today Christian leaders instruct people to look for the nation of Israel to build a new temple in Jerusalem and for Satan incarnate to turn up and rule the world and then desecrate that temple, and this act then for some reason provokes the Lord Jesus to return for a 1000 year rule on the earth, after He defeats and imprisons Satan. The expectations of the Jewish people and the expectations of Christians today are more than 2000 years apart but have notable similarities. They support each other because of the common ground that they share, which is a worldly perception. Men of the world speak of the world and the world hears them. The Holy Bible does not focus on worldly events or people: The entire focus of the Holy Bible is on God and His people.
There are other Scriptures that seem to support the phrase, “No man knows the day or the hour”. These additional Scriptures describe the Son of man returning like “a thief” in the night, and so seem to support the notion that no sign shall be given to herald His return. But this is not the truth of what the Father is saying, the LORD commands His people to “watch and pray” so that He does not come upon “them” like a thief. The command is a warning against the appointed judgment that is to come, that being of life or of death, for as Christ Jesus said plainly that, a thief comes only to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. If it is understood that God has always glorified Himself by foretelling of future events before they happen then why would the Lord Jesus speak of coming as a thief?
A second set of Scriptures describe the return of the Son of man as being much more visible and destructive, with the end of existence being understood and assured. They declare that when the Son of man is finally revealed His approach will be seen globally and then a trumpet shall sound and the children of God shall be caught up to be forever with God, and with His coming the universe and all that is in it shall be swallowed up by fire because of His magnificent power and glory and everything shall be consumed and dissolved by the furnace of heat. This end time event is preceded by the prophecies of a desolation period: the sun and moon going dark, stars falling from heaven, and the powers of the heavens being shaken; these are the signs that are to be looked for; the problem that carnal people have is that they are spiritual signs.
Notice that the end of the world is preceded by a time of spiritual desolation, which should be observable to anyone who is walking with the LORD (watch and pray), but if they were not then they would become a part of that desolation, having been taken by surprise. This suggests that the “watch and pray” should be before the desolation, and then the spiritual desolation, and then the end of the world. The spiritual desolation represents spiritual death but no immediate loss of life. What this means is a judgment before destruction, with a period of time in between, like when God waited patiently for the many years that it took Noah to finish the huge ark or for Lot to leave the plain of Sodom and Gomorrah, they were times of desolation and the people had not a clue of their impending destruction.
The verse, “No man knows the day or hour” was given to provide protection from false teachers until the time that the Father should give new directives. The verse is subject to the will of God or else it would say, “man shall NEVER know”. Once the Scriptures concerning the last days are opened up then this verse that has provided protection shall be inverted and become a death trap for those who refuse to leave it. The command is to watch and pray!
An argument could be made that it doesn’t matter when God returns, just be ready always; people have to live! A simple reply is, God has exposed new information in the Holy Bible after 2000 years and abiding such a statement reveals a bitter and scornful heart, and not a contrite and humble spirit. And being “ready” is not the same as being “worthy” because God cannot be “named and claimed”: Worthiness is not the man that claims God but God who claims the man! Although a great multitude can see the holy city there be few that enter therein.

{Jesus was talking to Israel in Matt 24. The desolation of Israel happened in 66-70AD when, due to "the overspreading of abominations", God sent his "four dreadful judgments" upon Jerusalem. They continue "riding" to this day. }

Your post is not really a "scripture alert", is it? There is no "new" information.

You are not reading the post or Matt.24 accurately. The church leaders today are teaching a tribulation (conflict) period with the world before the return of the Lord Jesus Christ, but the Holy Bible (see post) teaches a time of desolation (spiritual darkness) before God's return. In Matt.24 Christ Jesus begins in verse 4 declaring plainly that the message that He is giving at that time is for the future; nothing He said or did during His visit here had anything to do with past Isreal; He came to establish the future by shortening the past. < staff edit > < staff edit > < staff edit > <staff edit >

Jesus, speaking prophetically in Matt 24, said that the tribulation follows the desolation of Israel. That happened/is happening.

The tribulation has been going on since the desolation of Israel. It will be cut short for the sake of the elect at the time of the 6th seal and then the time of wrath will begin, which the church is not appointed to suffer.

Hi, when I use the word "desolation" it refers to no Holy Spirit being present, and therefore there is no spiritual life; the kind that comes by grace through the faith of Christ. You place far too much emphasis on the nation of Israel. The people of God have always been those who live by faith, and not those who follow the letter of law, or those who are born according to the flesh, or even the will of a man. There has always been a church within the church.
You are correct that the tribulation period began in earnest after Christ Jesus was crucified, but the desolation follows after the Great Tribulation Era. The 6th Seal is the 2nd Woe and that is the desolation period, which everyone must endure. Try the website and you'll learn a lot, if you can handle the truth.

No, after the church is removed at the end of the tribulation, a remnant of Israel is sealed by God and protected through the time of wrath - Rev 7/Rev 9/Rev 12.

The 6th seal is NOT the 2nd woe. Rev 8 says that there are three woe's after the 4th trumpet and they are the 5th, 6th, 7th trumpets. The trumpets, beasts and bowls are ALL in the 7th seal which is the time of wrath.

Rev 8:13And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!

REv 9:12One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter.

Rev 11:14The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly.

Hi, I am a newbie and I am told that I may have offended some people here and if that is the situation then I am truely sorry, and I need your forgiveness. If it happened then I did it in ignorance and certainly not intentionally; I am very sorry if I did offend you.
I am only trying to share what has been given to me, but I am told that I need 100 posts here before I can place a link, which is going to make my job almost impossible. May God's will be done.

"HisdaughterJen", I am sorry about the misunderstanding last week!

Hi, I'd like to give my view of the 2nd Woe, beginning from Rev.11.
The 3 Woes are the 5th, 6th, and 7th Judgments, and Rev.11 is part of the 2nd Woe. The sixth angel sounds in Rev.9:13 and the rest of chapter 9 and chapter 10 and 11 describe the 2nd Woe against the church (Trumpets). In Rev.11 it is one time period but during that one time period there are two events taking place at the same time; vinsight4u is correct then that there are two separate times being revealed, I just call them events and I see them both occurring in the 2nd Woe, because Rev.11:15 clearly ends the 6th Judgment and begins the final 7th Judgment.

The "hour" mentioned would represent that second event because notice how much different it is from the preceding verses, which have such a spiritually dark overtone to them with the killing of the two prophets and then how God raises them up. There is definitly something happening here, something good for God's people. So then, there is darkness spiritually and then at the end there is light given from God in heaven which breathes life back into the dead prophets, at the end of the 2nd Woe.

I haven't seen anything in the OP post that we haven't heard before is and it's a whole lot accurate then the post tribulation doctrine. Why because it's scriptural. The truth is always going to offend someone. Get over it is my motto. We believe in the word of God by faith, not by sight or of worldly mind. Allow the Holy Spirit to make the words of the scripture real in your hearts. HIS word is true because he spoke it into existence and he can see what's going to happen before it happens. Why on earth would the bible says, We not appointed to wrath 1 Thes 1:10 and 1 Thes 5:9 if we have to go through the tribulation time. It doesn't make sense that will would. Or would you want to.

uhmmm you do understand that just because someone understands something differently from you doesn't mean they don't believe the Bible is true, right? They simply see things differently.

I know that tulc and I wasn't saying otherwise. However, demons know scripture too. (no I'm not calling anyone a demon or comparing, just making a statement).
