In the time of Paul writing the Old Testament was already put together, called the Septugent. There might have been some writings of the Apostles around, but I believe Paul was referring to the Old Testament since it was the Bible of that day. It was referred to as Scripture.
No. Paul was referring to scripture. However, you BELIEVE that he was referring to the Old Testament.

This is where questioning begins.

I did and I do because what other scripture was there that Jews read? Paul was a Pharisee who was well schooled in the Old Testament and believed it. He just didn't believe Jesus was the Son of God, until Jesus Himself appeared to Him on the road to capture Christ's workers. Jesus too often referred to the Old Testament as 'Scripture.'
What other Scripture was there that Paul was so well versed in and believed was God's Word too?

No. He referred to parts of the Old Testament.

What other Scripture was there that Paul was so well versed in and believed was God's Word too?
I have no idea, but Paul did not specifically state all of Genesis, or the OT for that matter, was scripture. Its a belief. Which I presently have no problem with. There are both negatives and positive to this belief. I however do not concentrate on belief in irrelevant questions. My only reason for questioning is to instill personal reflection and introspection among others. I do not think we should just believe something because it is the popular thing to do, or because Mom and Dad and the pastor said so.

In essence, I believe both evolution and the literal translation of Genesis to both historically and intrinsically possible. However you will fail to convince me one or the other are false, because I am at the point now, where I am no longer interested in being convinced.

As a side note...

I will never again be impressed by someone's personal belief in an event that is irrelevant to one's salvation.
