  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi, all...I'm new here, and just checking things out...

I am a scrapbooker as well. I do paper and digital scrapbooking. I help others learn the digiscrapping stuff. I love it!! I'm teaching myself how to design as well.

Glad to know there's others here with the same interest!

Has anyone scrapped their wedding photos? I haven't even started, I'm so afraid of it lol
I am doing this right now!
think of it this way: how will they be more special to you?
you can take a lot of time to make the pages really nice and whatnot.
too, mine are all on disk should i ever want a copy, so i'm not really nervous about doing so.
but to me, you take the time to add memories and aspects about the day that you could forget (as far as the memories) to a certain degree that you probably want to share in the future!
i.e. I am intergrating lyrics of songs that we used on certain pages, and parts of the "program" that we handed out.
and you can do things to show signifigance, i.e. I am making a page where we were signing papers and making it all about "covenant".

Unfortunately I don't have any wedding pics -- married young in Vegas and didn't think pics were important back then. But....I have done 2 books for my son documenting his 2 mission trips to Mexico. Most of my other books are full of 1 or 2 pages about a certain event but these 2 books each documented just one week in time. I would think that a wedding book would be the same since it's about one event rather than a compilation of things.

What I found made tackling this easier was that I decided on a set design scheme. I picked a color palatte of 5 different southwestern shades (brown, a muted orange, deep red, dark yellow, and dark tan). I picked out 2 fonts (I don't like my handwriting so I always do my journaling on the computer and then print it out) -- one font was for the page titles and another for the journaling. I choose to use scripture for the decorating items and kept the pictures centered around one general idea for each page or 2 page layout. I also used this same design/color layout for both books.

I am going on the mission trip this year in June which I am excited about since I can add my own stories. For his I interviewed him and then wrote those stories down -- I must admit this was like pulling teeth because he's not a very talkative teen.

I hope these ideas help!

Happy Scrapping!!

Great suggestions everyone! I just have to stop worrying about making my wedding scrapbook "perfect" because it will never be lol. Yes I really should get a scheme going.

In other news my local, 3 miles down the street scrapbook store is closing  They've been there for 5 years but just can't pay the rent in the pricey strip mall anymore. The nearest scrapbook store will be an hour away now. Sigh. I just hate going to the big craft stores with their overpricing, bad customer service, and no fun perks like cropping area. Oh well :sigh:

I've resorted to looking at patterned paper online! I miss my lss so much....the local craft stores do have pp but not good cardstock - they have like a store brand, not Bazzil. I guess I'm a cardstock snob :p

I'm tackling the slightly less scary project of my honeymoon! Having some problems finding paper that I can use throughout the book so it looks fairly themed and connected though
