My great Uncle Willie Parkyll (unsure how to spell that last name as he married my Aunt from Ireland and we were more familiar with that name) was from Scotland and he used to say this poem to me all the time. He died when I was 8. I only know it pheonetically.

Sounds like

There is a wee dock in Doris
There is a wee bit in ben

Anyone know it? It would bring back loving memories

Thank you. :pink: :pink:

Jist away in that's a'
There's a wee doch an doris, afore ye gang awa.

I am so blessed that you wrote it! I have happy feet that are dancing all over the room right now. :pink: :pink:

I have replied on the PM. Thank you so much!

My great Uncle was so nice and very handsome. He wore a long dark coat and had one of those hats they wore in the 40's or something. He had hair that was various shades of gray with a thick moustache. Very noble chap.

But he would become so warm and human as he removed his coat and let me crawl on his lap and he would recite Wee Dock in Doris.

It was so sad when he died. For he knew how to let me be a child.

Thank you

Sending some blessings

Hi, everyone

Just dropping by to say Hi. My nana was Scottish, from Campsie. She came to live in New Zealand with her family when she was 10, and here we all are! I'd love to visit Scotland one day!
