So how was everyone's Hogmanay?
Quiet! My first Hogmanay in as an adult, and it was lovely. Except for those darned fireworks going off at midnight! I thought they cancelled the fireworks in Edinburgh? Could have fooled us!

We had a quiet night in too - hubby was working, so it was just me and the kids - and even they weren't as excited about staying up late as they used to be! So they were off to bed at 12.30....and I consoled the cats until the fireworks stopped round here.

I had the flu so was in bed by 12:30!

Oh no! Disaster! :( Hope you're feeling better now?

We had been invited to a party but had to cancel because of the high winds, which were upsetting our dogs. One of them comfort-eats when stressed. Unfortunately his diet includes soft furnishings...

But we had a nice time watching Still Game and Jools' Hootenanny- I'm an on-call engineer and had to remain sober anyway, so the party wasn't such a big miss :)

We had a party planned, but with one thing and another, it didn't go off as planned, and we ended up enjoying a quiet one together with still game and then the edinburgh stuff (dissappointed at the lack of broadcast from STONEHAVEN town of my child hood, one of two uncancelled major celebarations, and the only proper place to see in hogmananay) before entertaining some first footing neighbours at a round 1. I was very glad they came, would have been seriously upset if we had managed to spend new year without wishing anyone else a happy one in person!

After seeing this articleon the BBC website this morning I was reminded the rumour I heard of a film being made about John Lennon's encounter with a 'wee free' minister in Golspie back in 1969 when he was in a car crash in 1969. Seems that Lennon enjoyed many a happy time in the north :)

Yeah, I heard a rumour that the working title was "A Series Of Unfortunate Events". I think it's going to be a comedy. :p
