And again, I say (if you've read the Glasgow thread already, please disregard this ticking off ) Where are you all, and what have you been doing while I've been away??? The Scottish thread has dropped down to page 3!!! Where's your pride, people!!?? We've had Andy Murray slogging his wee guts out at Wimbledon, the G8 summit focussing the world's attention on Edinburgh, and nobody's had anything to say in here?? Get typing, I say!!

Is anybody taking part in the G8 protests? Or concerned about being caught up in them?
I will be at the Make Poverty History event in Edinburgh on Saturday, but I go on holiday the next day, so I hope to miss the fun when demonstrators chain themselves to the Forth Road Bridge or whatever...

There are lots of activities planned for the Meadows during the day.
The climax, a human chain encircling central Edinburgh, will be spectacular!
Edinburgh people are well-used to big parades and demonstrations, they are very encouraging and I'm sure there will be a great atmosphere,especially given the extent of public sympathy with this cause.

There's a whole contingent from my church going en masse, but I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to go yet. They've all booked train tickets, and I have a feeling the trains are going to be fairly mobbed - don't fancy trying to take the car!

Hmm...highly dubious in my opinion. Further doubt is cast upon the accuracy of this poll when you see that they think Fort William is a city and Glasgow is in the Grampian region!

Hmm, can't see a huge difference over all, but then I was just looking at Scotlands entries on said site.

Interesting to see Dame Edna is still alive and thriving in Edinburgh though.

What do people think of the Glasgow bid for the Commonwealth games?

I'm in favour of developing sports facilities, but I think it would be better to spend £250m on community sports centres than on world-class facilities for elite athletes. It sounds more like an ego-boosting project for the Labour politicians in charge of our taxes - echoes of the parliament building...
