Oh, sometimes you can be right about that and sometimes you can be wrong. It's striking that you have nothing to add to your mere assertion that they cannot do what they do. You cannot conceive of someone asserting that a sack of chemicals can be complex enough and dynamic enough to be of great value. And yet, for someone to assign a value is up to them to assign the value, and you have no logical reason to deny them that personal right.

Wow, that is twisting things around and around again. It is not an assertion. Their belief is that only the material exists. Are you suggesting that they being complex and dynamic makes then of great value? The mouse is complex and dynamic, do they have equal value of a human?

I have every logical reason to point out the inconsistency of their beliefs. They can't believe they have no mind other than the brain, no absolute moral standard, no actions that they chose themselves and no true emotions other than what their hard wired brain already determined and then claim they are rational, moral and care for others when their worldview doesn't include that. They are the ones that devalue themselves and others by holding that position. They know that worldview doesn't fit with reality. They know that they have an absolute standard for morality, they know they can think rationally, they know they can love and they know that they can decide for themselves what choices to make; but they deny it with their materialistic worldview all the while thinking, being moral, loving and making choices.

No, I am saying that the human being can ascribe great value to complex and dynamic entities, regardless of their composition, whether chemicals, ectoplasm, or silicon.

And you cannot make that ascribing going away by claiming they can't do it.

I deny they know they have an absolute standard for morality. All of us are aware of differing standards of morality, such as how many wives a man should have, whether or not having slaves is moral, whether or not its ok to kill (insert ethnic group here) . . .

Of course, most atheists these days adopt the moral standards taught us by Jesus, its due to the impact of Christianity on our culture.

We are talking about the science you read about in text books. Students study different subjects and it help if their various classes do not contradict each other. Some people claim that science does more harm then good and others try to debate that science does more good then harm.

I think it was the barber that use to pull teeth. Anyways, you pay a LOT of money to save your teeth for a few years and then they end up pulling them anyways. If this is the best you got to present a case for how wonderful science is then you got a long way to go. Maybe if science can get you to grow a new tooth when the old one is no good, then you could brag about being able to do something other then to take money away from people.

It is science that came up with the food that is rotting our teeth out and somehow you see a silver lining in the dentist taking your money when they fail to solve the problem that science created??? WHAT?

They still pull teeth today. If science could save teeth then maybe you would have something to brag on. Look at the ancient skulls. The teeth are a bit wore down from chewing on grains but they still have all their teeth. Tooth disease is a modern problem due to the diet that Science provides for us.

Here is the oldest human skull, no dentists back then.
