  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Im not a parent, but a highschool junior with special needs and in special ed. I am currently in a Biology 2 class and I am stuggling big time with that class. I do all the classwork and homework but when it comes time for tests I study alot and still fail tests. I got out of the regular ed classroom to go down to the spec ed classroom where ALL tests are read to me, but somehow I end up failing. I barely passed this 1st grading period with a 74%. (Failing is 69 or below). My question is if I do/want to drop it am I allowed to this late into the school year (Having gone to school almost 7 weeks now?) Or since I have an IEP can my special ed teacher hold a meeting or send a paper home with me saying its ok if i drop it and have her sign it, since I cant sign IEP papers yet since Im not 18? I dont know if any of you have had this happen tho. Suggestions would be helpfull as well.

Sorry I missed this thread.

I would suggest you talk to your staff representative, they are usually the one who does the IEP.

Go over what your marks are on assignments and tell them your stuggles with the tests. See if they have any other way of appoaching the tests.

Other than that, I don't have much of a suggestion because I don't know much about your school or their regulations.

God Bless...
