• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It's as easy as wiping a blackboard and writting something else on it.

A major problem with Christians in the US is they really don't live any different than nonbelievers.
It's a very selfish lifestyle.

If you don't have a goal to fight the sins in your life, and to help others over come their problems/sins, then you are missing the balanced Christian life, and you will suffer that sin.

People take better care for pets than they do people.
They spend more money on make-up than they do trying to make this world a better place.
And you wonder why you suffer?

I'm guilty of the same thing, I'm selfish, and I suffer for it.

The only way is for Christians to work together to over come sin, and take a great deal of time and money to build Safe Houses.
These Safe Houses can help others get from from the bondage of sin, and then they can be productive Christians who's life is centered around the Kingdom of Heaven.

A safe house for everything now huh? It starts with addictions, and now we need safe houses for general sin? You speak of balance, but Balance is not what you preach. Balance is the ability to produce, mental steadiness or emotional stability; habit of calm behavior, judgment. All of which are qualities the people you have been berating have, by examples they have shown you.

But you again have shown us, you have your own agenda, with your own definitions. I see a very angry man who want to place everyone around him in a lock down environment, so as to feel comfortable to seek the help that you need. Brother Stone it is with much love that i bring this to your attention again. If you need to be in a place like a safe house where everything is monitored then please seek one out.. In fact didn't you say you checked into a place like this for another problem you were having? what ever happened to that? Did it work? are you free from sin? Did the cost justify the outcome?

If not, then how can you justify the expense of a month of room and board for a person who feels ok with there life, but may have had some injustice brought upon them in the past? What are they to gain exactly, If they truly fit the definition of balanced already?

The past determines how your present unfolds, and how difficult it is. I can understand that no one's going to have a perfect life, but sometimes bad things happen more often than we can handle.

Look at a scar as a memory of some traumatic event. It compels us to avoid whatever the cause was, and sometimes to avoid significant portions of our lives, out of fear. Fear isn't always easy to overcome. It's like that because it has the effect of keeping us alive. The trick is to remember and learn, but not fear. Sometimes scars go away, but that's after a long time in the absence of injury.
