If you like Adventure type games, a very scary one that I played years ago was Gabriel Knight 2. My next vote would be for Silent Hill 2.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'd have to say the original Resident Evil scared me the most. Just because it was unlike anything that had been done before. After that, you kinda know what to expect and they just are not as scary.

Scariest game for me would have to be Clive Barker's Undying.
Some others are the Diablo series. Turn on the lights and some DC Talk.

Ok common now, the scariest game out there has to be SIMS, I mean for crying out loud, you want to get rid of reality when playing a game, so why play a game about day to day life? eeep

Alone in the Dark was pretty scary! I think Thief wasn't that gripping, but it was pretty cool.

Well Thief gripped me 'cause of the stealthy aspect, very alternative to most FPS's, and the enviromental aspects (sound, carpet, etc) affecting things so much... and also the fact that if you ran in the wrong spot you'd have guards after you

I thought Fatal Frame (PS2) was pretty scary. (Project Zero for us Aussie's). Taking photo's of ghosts isn't exactly my idea of fun... it's just spooky. I had to make sure all the lights were on in the house and I was in the same room as people because it was CREEPY as!!!

I saw a clip of SH3. As a tip to the hat of SH1, at one point the lead character refuses to go digging in an old, grimy toiletbowl, she says no to the camera "That's disgusting!" I think you might have to have a SH2 save slot on your memory card for it to unlock that though.

Fatal Frame (have i even got the name right?) is a game where you have to take photo's of ghosts and discover the truth behind all that happens in the estate. It's supposedly based on a true Japanese story. I don't know... But it's pretty freaky.

Turn off all the lights , plug in your high-end headphones to you sblive EAX card and play the original Aliens Vs. Predator marine campaign. I was convinced there were Zenomorphs in my house for 3 days after that......
