• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

There is no one who fears death and no afterlife here. That scares me because that is the one thing I cant find anybody can relate to. i also dont get what irrational thought means with religious O.C.D i saw this where someone said doubting God is irrational but we dont know he exists we believe he exists so how is it unrational. Is it unrational because I doubt but yet I pray to God everynight?

How has it helped if you dont mind me asking. What have they said about your doubt. Can any doubt be o.c.d. because I havent found many afraid there is no heaven like me. I used to never doubt. I had a medical probelm that turned out as nothing but I thought death was coming my way then like a light switch a fear pops in what if there is no heaven, then what if i am either not going to get into heaven because I doubt and recently like a week ago recently what if because I have commited some really bad things maybe I wont go to heaven. Been like this a year. I cant afford therapy and the three pastors I have talked to are making things worse. It would be interesting to hear what yours says. Is he or she a Christian?

Hi raven1,

First off, are you connected to a church small group? If you're not, I suggest you try to find a group of fellow believers who you could open up to about your struggles.

Secondly, do you have any medical insurance whatsoever? Sometimes, insurance can help pay for you going to see a Christian counseller.

Thirdly, one of the first things you need to do is know that there is hope. There are others like you out there, so please there's no need to feel alone.

God bless,

Hermit
