Hello my friends,
I need your thoughts on this one. I'm totally at a loss on what to do.
I am stablized with my med's. Doc thinks we could cut back on one or two of them as we think we know which ones are stablizing me and which ones were added to try and stabalize me but never taken away. THINK is the key word we THINK we know. I'd like to not mess with anything but I have two problems. One is i have no sex drive and i believe the culprite is one of the antidepressants that i think is expendable and two the med's are too expensive.
So there is that...that's not too much of difficulty BUT..
Then there is the second problem. My hormones (cycle) is totally jacked up. LIke it's so messed up that twice i have ended up in urgent care with massive blood loss and severe anemia not to mention complete return of my bipolar syptoms during this time. No particular reason they can figure out except jacked up hormones. They want to regulate with birth control pills. HERE'S THE KICKER. Once i tried progestrone only after my son was born. It worked fine but as soon as I switched to progesterone/estrogen combo pills i hit SEVERE depression and landed in the emergency room for uncontrollable depression/crying/and suicidal thoughts. The second time i tried birth control combo pill (6 years later) I had the same/worse recation and was hospitalized twice.
My gyno prescribe progesterone only pills instead of combo pills at my request as i have had an okay reaction to them before. BUT I'M TOO SCARED TO TAKE THEM. I want to talk to my pdoc about all this but i don't know what to say to him. I don't know what to do first or what to do at all.
