I watched this last night, and I was disappointed in it.
I didn't fall asleep in it, and it had a few things going for it.
But the writing and acting in this movie was just off, especially the writting.

The idea itself was a very good one.
But the timing on alot of the scenes was off.
Some of those scenes would have worked, if they had a little better timing done to them.

Some people of course didn't like it. Some people of course are also idiots. Is there a corrolation? Only Saw will tell. Saw was a great movie. The way they presented the stroy allowed you to know as much as the victims did, so you never really could expect one thing over another. I loved the villian and his games. The acting...well...the story was great.

It was a fantastic movie, don't care what anyone says.

1. The doctor is a moron.
- He was taken to a police station where he was suspect. He answered some questions and listened to a girls testimoney of this phsyco killer. He learns all of the killers victoms and how they were killed.
He was in the same situation as the rest of the victoms, why didn't he see the pattern before 30 minutes into the movie? After a long time he goes" Errrr duhhh I think I know who the killer is George"

2. The other guy is a moron.
Perhaps being a private investigator, you think he would have mentioned that part to the doctor about him taken the docs photos.
I mean you are hired to take the doctors photos, and then you are kidnapped with the guy on the same night.

3. Check the water tank first on the toilet.
- When the "x" showed up on the toilet the first thing that ran through my mind was "check the water tank first", not "hey lets stick my hand in **** first, and then check the water tank".


4. The orderly "Zep" did it, or no wait he didn't do it.
Right off the back I knew they were trying to pin it on him, but in all movies they try to set up one person to distract you from the other guilty person.
Only good movies will do it on a realistic set of facts, not "ok lets make the victom who looks like the bad guy, some phsyco crazy guy who likes to scare little girls with guns."
I mean come on, was the guy a bad guy or a victom?
And if he was a victom, then why was he acting like such a bad guy?

5. Were the police trained?
- Ok you got the drop on the guy. How did you let him get away?
Why didn't you shot when he resisted?

6. The wife of the doctor is a moron.
- Ok you have the drop on the bad guy with a gun, do you think now is the time to kiss and make up with your husband????
Especially while the bad guy is sliding on his knees towards you????
And how about that doctor in that situation.
"Oh honey I love you and I'm so sorry" instead of " Oh you got the suspect on the ground, awesome! Now hang up and call the police, if he moves SHOOT HIM!!!!"


I could go on, the movie played out like that. It was a good concept that was just filled with bogus stuff that doesn't add up or make any sense.
Lets make a movie that looks good, but not have it make any sense.

I thought it was very well done. This movie was without a doubt the most disturbing movie I have ever seen.

For the post above me, I think if placed in that situation people wouldn't be thinking straight. Hysteria would have set in by now. It's easy to criticize, and maybe you would have been thinking straight, but a majoritiy act very irrationally when placed in stressful situations.

I think what disturbed me the most about this movie is that someone thought the concept up. I think it's a reality shocker that there ARE people who think like this and not all of them have morals or principals.

Well this movie was "Alright" it could have been better. Personaly I didn't find anything frightening about it. It was very disturbing mind you but still wasn't frightening. The acting wasn't that great at all, the storyline was good but could have been better. Loved the ending though. I don't think anyone could have predicted that (at least I couldn't lol ).

I saw (heh) it with my cousin. What spoiled the movie for me was that the real killer's voice is known to me, he was in 24 and Mississippi Burning, so I knew the orderly guy wasn't the real killer.

It wasn't great, but was enjoyable if you didn't think too hard. Took my little cousin on a Fri night and we had fun. Cary Elwes acting toward the end was atrocious.
