  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I finally watched this movie about teenage Christians, produced by REM's Michael Stipe.

It was mildly entertaining, but nothing special. I was expecting something more intense. This was like an 80's teen movie, not even on par with John Hughes (16 Candles, Breakfast Club, etc).

It's like one of those movies where they take some group and make them the enemy. In this case it's Christians. In other movies it was things like popular cliques, rich kids, jocks, adults, etc. At least in Breakfast Club the jock is shown to be a human.

In this movie the Christians are human only if they engage in sex and surround themselves with non-Christians.

This was more on a level with Porky's.

I thought it was funny, because it reminded me a lot of the Christian high school I attended. There were the uber Christians, the black sheep, etc. I did think that the message was worthwhile - to accept people as they are and not make faith a game or a competition.

Me and my boyfriend went to see it last night and both enjoyed it and appreciated the message it brought across. I think what some people might not like is the right winged leaglistic approach that many characters had - that can put people off christianity all together......
