Saved... or not?

My question is how do you know truthfully if you are saved? I mean this is what I'm struggling with seieng if I'm TRULY saved... I mean I think I beleive in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior that's what I want to believe but I don't know if I truly believe in Him, well I do I guess but where my problem is... is that I'm afraid that I'm only a Christian for the benifits (eternal life) and well I dont be in it for that reason but I don't know I wanna follow after God...but I don't even know...
Oh I'm probably not explaining it good enough... but I dunno how else to.

Have you recieved the Lord's love for you? Loving God is essential. You probably are saved but you need to recieve the Lords love and get the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will help you to live right and help you to know God more intimentely. If you want to know more you can PM me.

I have had the same stuggle about 2 years ago. I asked myself did I really ask Jesus into my heart? Did i really mean what I said? Well let me say you did, The enemy places doubt in your mind, but remeber where is this from? Doubt is not of God! It's of the enemy stand strong in your decision and declare it in the face of doubt. You will be liberated

hi sorry to see you're not feeling well you know if you're truly saved by God's word read romans 10 verses 9-11 there are many other verses that speak about being saved if you dont have one i suggest a strongs concordance to help you study, to find specific words. if you've come to God, repented,and believed on the lord Jesus as your savior you are saved continue on in the faith even in struggles to the end coming from a pentecostal church i know that there can be some emphasis on feelings or experiences i caution you , feelings are awesome, should God decide to do that for us, but do not base your salvation on feelings base it on faith, what God's word says. i cant over empasis enough read your bible put the truths of God in your heart it will protect you.sit at Jesus's feet and learn of him, talk to him, pray. many go through serious doubts when they base their relationship to God on feelings. believe and trust God he is truly good!!

If you have acknowledged that Jesus Christ died on the cross to forgive and cleanse you of your sins. If you believe that Jesus was the substitute who paid the price for your sins and have truly repented of them. If you have asked Jesus Christ to be the Lord of your life and asked Him to come into your heart, you have received Him and are saved. The Holy Spirit has begun to live Jesus' life in you and you are being changed (not perfect yet though). If you have confessed with your mouth and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you are saved.

After that, you need to set aside specific times every day to spend alone with God in which you should read your Bible, think on it, talk to God and tell Him about everything in your life, and listen through your spirit. Once we grow and have a solid relationship with God we can reach out to others. Reading your Bible is very important for faith. The words will become a part of us so that we begin to think and act like Jesus. That is how we grow.

Notofthisworld and Shetlandrose are right on for the steps of salvation.

To test yourself you could use one of the ways Jesus says to determine who is of God and who is not-judge a tree by it's fruit. Are you any different now then you were when you were in the world? I'm not saying a true believer doesn't sin, but they become a very different person inside (at least I did).
If anyone be in Christ Jesus he is a new creation old things have passed away behold all things have become anew.
It's good that your asking, you should always check to make sure you are walking in the faith and are not being decieved.

I pray that God will give you peace and clarity of mind.

In the old days there was a term "praying through". basically it meant you perservere in prayer until you know that you know you have gotten the answer. I suggest you pray through about your salvation until you know that you know God has answered. You may also want to consider adding fasting to your prayer.
