  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Satanic symbols or is it just me?

All my threads are beginning to tie together. It seems all roads used to lead to Rome. But now everywhere I turn I hit into the EU.

Web search...

Chigi Family--->Eurpoean Council--->European Union!
GASP!!! The conspiracy MUST be true!!!!

However, before you get too excited, you might want to know that it was the custom of Renaissance Popes to have their family crest displayed somewhere on all commissioned artworks that were done at the Vatican. The Pope at the time that Bernini was commissioned to renovate St. Peter's Square was Pope Alexander VII---whose real name was Fabio Chigi.

Perfectly innocuous. :) Looks good at first glance, though, doesn't it? ;)

Neo, any luck on that article, buddy?

You're putting a LOT of effort, time, research, and thought into this!

Instead of looking for conspiracies and satanism in the Catholic Church, why not volunteer to work at a soup kitchen, or read to the elderly at a nursing home, or get together a group of young people from your church and do repair work on housing for the homeless, or even pick up trash in your community, wearing bright "Jesus Loves YOU!" T-shirts, to proclaim your faith to anyone who drives by?

Peace be with you,

And how do you know that I do not already do all this and more?

Well, minus the bright T-Shirts...

They're not my style.

Thanks anyway, for the advise, but I do not take my cues from Man nor Women.

:) LOVE

Why does the catholic church make Peter their first pope? he wasn't even in rome , nor would he back anything the catholic church does or teaches. Just a question.
What sources are you citing to back these statements up, RKF?

Standard bibliographic reference will do.

Come on, why does every thread dealing with a question about Catholicism have to degenerate into a free for all where people pitch out one misconception after another about the Catholic church? All this information is freely available both on this forum and on the web. Try a search on the forum for "peter rock pope" or something like that and you should find a few threads with a lot of information in them.

Pure rubbish. The Catholic Church teaches a lot of the same things that the Protestant churches do -- Peter wouldn't back any of it? He wouldn't agree that Jesus is Lord? Or that he was resurrected? Or that you should do unto others as they do to you?
