There are Satanists, yes.

But the whole fallacy of Satanic Ritual Abuse, kidnappings, ritual murders, blah, blah, flippin blah, is all a farce. The people who got famous and rich from the whole SRA fallacy, Shnoebelen, Warnke, Brown, Padzer, et al, have been exposed as frauds and their stories thoroughly debunked.

Strangely enough, however, some people still believe in it. Some poor misguided individuals even claim to have been victims of this nonexistent phenomena. Then some people also claim to be alien abductees too, *shrug*

Hails.

Yes, there are so called Satanic cults.

But remember a cult is not always bad.
A cult is basically a group that has a leader in high position.
Did you know that the biggest Cults that kill are Right Hand Killers (RHK), These are people who say they are in contact with the Christian god. They walk around picking people one by one, and sacrificing them in front of a crucifix.

Now you as a x-tian will claim this is not true, but in reality it is.

Me as being a Satanist, and in some cases a high class Satanist have looked in to the so called SRA, and 9 times out of 10, it's done by people who watch too many Hollywood movies. The true Satanism is a welcoming.
As you may know I am a Laveyan Satanist.
I have seen things done by christians which I don't think are appropriate for this site due minors browsing through it.

So the answer to your question again ... there are cults, Some that mainly influenced through Movies, Books with made up stories (e.g. the bible), and people talking ****.

A Laveyan Satanist. Great book. I read it 10/17/89 on a dare. Changed my life. Unfortunately people started calling me the devil, making jokes about sacrificing chickens, and all sorts of nonsense. While I was reading the book, the part about how and why curses are effective, I felt this energy rush leave me, as if the curse someone put upon me had dissolved.

The first half of the book seemed to explain why people believe what they do, rather than teach one How To Be a Satanist. It's more like an exposé and history lesson than anything else. A month and a half after reading it, I got a raise and a promotion and great things starting happening.

I also read an exposé about Anton LaVey, how he wasn't exactly what he would like us to believe he was. They made him out to be a real liar and loser. I wonder if I still have it bookmarked... let me look for it.

What do we call them? Oh yeah, Copy Cats. Misguided? Unreasonable? Take your pick or come up with your own. That's just sick, and I'm sure they even knew it. What kind of anger does it take to be able to do things like that?

From what I know of Laveyan Satanist's, they don't destroy life or anything like that.

I don't think those Evil people committing Cruel acts are Satanists, they're individuals acting on their own.

interesting article MQTA. But something that i've always wondered is. i've heard some fellow Satanists say that they don't even belive in Satan (The Devil) at all. They are just worshiping themselfs and there own desires. But if they don't belive in Satan then why are they even in theses Satanic Cults or Groups? because isn't the whole point of being a Satanist is to Worship Satan (The Devil). because after all that is why they call them Satanic Cults.

but please correct me if im wrong though!

and also one last Question. Do you satanists truthfully deep down Really wanna go to Hell? if you even belive in such a place.

thank you

and i don't mean any offense to anybody here on the Forums i just wanted to get this out. and to see what you members thought. both NON-Christians and Christians can take part in my questions

As LaVey writes in his own book, some people need ritual in their life, so they can have some form of ritual. It can also be community. Seeking out others who share the common belief. The label of Laveyan Satanist should tell other's who say the same that they are on the same pages.

Some people say and do things for effect. Reading the book gave me a greater understanding than the hocus pocus and boogeyman I believed from movies and talking with others who had no clue either.

I think LaVey's POV is more sexual than evil. The Devil backwards is Lived. His idea of Evil just mean one should Live their life. The book sheds light on how Christian dogma and rituals have come about over the years. How fears bring in believers, etc, etc.

I don't think LaVeyan Satanists "really" want to go to Hell, nor would they think they're going to such a place. Language is used for effect, and boy what an effect it has!
It's all an illusion shrouded in fears.

I did know of an actual Devil-worshipper back when I was a freshman in college (about to graduate next week), but folks like him are like 1:100,000,000....so rare, it isn't worth getting bothered about.

And most of 'em are little more than teenagers who can't control their hormones, have low self-esteem and discipline, and are rather anti-social.

As for "LeVayan" Satanists, they aren't actual Devil-worshippers. They are worshippers of their own selves. "Satan" to them is little more than an archetype of primal nature and basic desire. They won't go around sacrificing cats or doing bloodletting; in fact, they are prohibited to do those things by their own Satanaic Bible. They probably number around 10,000, and their numbers are on the decline from what I've last read.

So no, there are no Devil-worshipping cults.

Most of society lives in misconceptions. Seems only the people here in this forum even consider any of them. Most people I see 'out there' don't seem to question or ponder their beliefs, they just know what they've been taught and go on about their lives in that manner.

Jane: Yeah. I always have to laugh when a movie shows a pentacle and says that its from an "ancient satanic medievil cult." Since historically, they would most likely be talking about christians. :)

As far as the OP, I think that pocket events do happen, and have read about some, where one or a few people claim to be worshiping satan and go off and murder one or a couple people. But the idea of organized evil cults or large scale SRA seems to be myth. Even the pocket events are rare and normally small.

No. There are a very, very few people who self-identify as Satanists in our culture, but most of that pitifully small number are atheists. Conservative Christians who see anything that disagrees with their theology as "satanic," however, see them everywhere, from Catholic Church services to Quaker meetings to Unitarian Universalist rituals and other things which are, obviously, not "satanic."

In other words, your movies are just movies, hon. They're all made up. The world doesn't work that way.

Why is it when people start a post with "I can tell you this for a fact" you know there's not going to be anything in the way of corroborating evidence or anything better than hearsay forthcoming?

Got any court documents?

Any reliable news stories?

Anything other than your claims that this ois a "fact"?

dangerous satanic cults? Myth. You get people pretending to worship the devil blah blah blah and supposedly sacrificing children.... these people are morons who need to get out more; they aren't satanists. No matter what anybody tries to dig up, any real group of satanist would never do the kinds of things that the media like to say they do.

Charles Manson and his Cult thought he was jesus, so they killed in the name of god, how do you know these people were not oing the same?

i've heard some fellow Satanists say that they don't even belive in Satan (The Devil) at all. They are just worshiping themselfs and there own desires

I know one satanist, and I have read the book (or most of it) and from what I have gathered Satanism LaVey style is all about self gradification.

LaVey Satanism
Magus Anton Szandor LaVey was born in Chicago in 1930 (1930-1997). He was the founder of a 'new religion' in 1966, on the night of May Eve—the traditional Witches’ Sabbath —LaVey declared the founding of the Church of Satan thus creating..."... a new revolution designed to smash the hypocrisy and unreason which has reigned for the past 2000 years." In addition, they claim that they are the "...most formidable threat to all who would halt progress in the name of spirituality..." as well as being "...explorers on the untrodden paths of science, human motivation and mystery --- all that is most truly occult..."

LaVey used quite the combination of.....psychology + psychic......

And Folly. Don't forget folly. :)

Satanism is quite the button pusher, isn't it? But only those who fear it based on their own preconceived notions, usually enhanced and distorted by hollywood in the last 50-80 years.

As I said in this thread, I read the book on a dare, but it was the most freeing experience I ever had. Someone really bugged me with a curse and threat in 1981 and when I read the book in 1989 I felt the energy release and I knew it was that guy from 1981.

After that things got a lot better!. Hidden and subconscious fears really bog ya down.
