Satanic bands

Ok, I was a great fan of Nightwish, Blind guardian, drgonforce...
and some other metal bands like avantasia and so forth, all power and symphony metal. But with great sorrow I stoped listening them when I started soubting they have satanic elements.

Can someone please help me and state some facts that would deny this claims or support them since I very much like this music, but if it is against God I will certanly deny it.

My doubt comes from a fact that blindguardian yust to call itself Lucifer's heritage, and dragonforce was formed from a remanants of black metal band Demoniac. But that's all in the past and I still can not judge whethere there is somthing wrong with this music or not, since now I haven't noticed any satanic elements in it now. Nightwish has a song called carpenter of which mening I'm not realy sure.
Also AC/DC is causing me heaache.

Why is all this difficult, I just wish this people play their great music without having dispute with God. The main problem isd that now I have some kind of satinic phobia for, some time ,any band I hear a check on the net and so forth. I realy could use a good constructive advice about this,thank you

I don't know why the band called themselves Lucifer's Heritage, but I remember reading an interview in which the Hansi Kursch (the vocalist and lyric writer) said that he was a Christian. He's also mentioned in Wikipedia's article on Christian Metal.

There is only one way to overcome this and that is to listen to the voice of the Spirit of God.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Anyone in Christ is a new creature, the old things are gone and the new has come. (rom 8-15) those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God.

As a christian you are a new creation and as you renew your spiritual mind (Eph 4:22-24, Philip 4:8, Rom 12:2, 1 Cor 2:16) you will have to drop things that are spiritually unwholesome, thus in my point all secular metal. The only one who can lead you is God the HOly Spirit and if he says no then it doesn't matter what anyone here says to challenge his voice in your life.

2 Timothy 2:22

Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, hope and love along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Paul said to flee anything that is a harm to you and tempts you to sin, listening to secular metal tempts you with wrong thoughts that counter the fruits of the Spirit (Gal 5:22) and does nothing to help you grow spiritually, just helps you to stay bound to the flesh.

Ephesians 6:12

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, the authorities, the powers of this dark world, and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (2 Cor 4:4) (James 4:7)

There is a spiritual war with demonic powers out there and there kingdom is temporal meaning they want you to live in the flesh where God wants you to live in the spirit which is eternal. Your conscience is telling you its bad which is the voice of the Spirit of God, con science means with knowledge and this is where God speaks to you meaning he is saying no secular metal, get rid of it and move on. On the other hand demonic powers are saying its ok, keep listening, there are so called other believers who are decieved listening to it as well, its ok buddy keep listening so I can keep you in bondage. If your conscience says no then throw it out and when your tempted to come back to this sight don't for many innocent believers get lured into things that are not biblical in this forum.

Read Colossians 3:8

I dont have my bible and have it memorized but it says put to death whatever belongs to your earthly nature (the flesh) and then it has a list of things to eliminate such as anger, rage, malice and filthy language from your lips. Think about it all secular metal sings about is anger, rage, malice, and filthy language.

I get a real kick here how Christians say I love slayer but cannibal corpse sucks. It counters scripture, they are using foul language. In God's kingdom we are united in spirit and do things to edify and love one another, not put each other down because we have some differences . The battle is in the mind and you now live in the spirit so you want to put wholesome things into mind and spirit things that are spiritually positive not negative garbage sinful thoughts that secular metal does. Secular metal groups are temporal and satanic, some knowingly work for satan and others are decieved but the simple point is they all serve satan and satan works through them to lure others into his kingdom of darkness.

Dont pollute your mind or spirit with this garbage (2 Cor 7:1) we must remove anything that would contaminate body and spirit and secular satanic music must be the first to go. Burn you cd's, shirts, books, etc and buy christian music. As soon as you get rid of it you will have the temptation to buy it again but resist the devil and he will flee.

You can also print out the lyrics and show them to your pastor and he will clearly tell you to move on and away from this garbage.

Read this and recieve this science because everyone here attacks and persecutes me for stating the truth about true spiritual principles in the word of God.

If anyone speaks he should do it as one speaking the very words of God and if anyone serves he should do it with the strength that God provides.

Your words and thoughts should be wholesome and positive so get rid of the bad stuff and renew you mind with love and beauty, not moral filth.

Regardless of what others say to bash me or this post stay true to what the Holy Spirit is telling you because he is the number one authority in your life and you will have to give an account to him, not those here who are caught in some spiritual bondages, not saying their not Christian because only God knows their hearts and who are his but they are decieved spiritually.

Trust me science I know about this stuff because I was in serious satanic bondage and spiritual matters before turning to the Lord and the Holy way.

Have a good walk and listen to your spirit and God and not to others who are leading you astray into spiritually evil bondages.

I enjoy music regardless of lyrics.. it's more in the instrumentation and how the song is put together.

That being said, I have no great love for Cradle of Filth, to say the least...

When we say "Satanic bands" are we talking just about the appearence, look, lyrics, ect... or are these band memers satanists?

I agree the whole band is sick and scum! I read some of his lyrics, could not even bother clicking the links to some of the lyrics SIMPLY BECAUSE OF THE NAME OF THE SONG.

Thank you for your concern, but the question for me is not whter should I listen to these band, but whteher they have satanic elements, that's all. I do not wish to listen to music that has messages against God, that's way I'm asking somone to clear or confirm my doubts about the bands I mentioned

Tom Arya of Slayer is a Christian. Did anyone know that? He says that the music he puts out will NEVER interfere with his beliefs in Jesus.

This is of couse, debatable. His whole being a minister in the church of Satan thing came later, and he himself has said it was just for attention. The church of Satan also does not recognize Marilyn Manson as a serious satanist.

And that rumour is based upon the fact that he read the works of Aleister Crowley and bought one of his mansions that he still lives in to this day I believe. But Crowley was not a satanist. He was an occultist. I know not many people understand the difference, but there is one.

Dio is not half the satanist that he claims to be. Evidence of this can be seen from his antics on Black Sabbath's World Tour for their CD "The Mob Rules". Apparently, during these shows Dio would call people down to the stage to accept satan as their lord and master. Any LaVeyan satanist worth his salt, knows that satanists do not bow down to ANYONE, even satan himself. They, themselves are the godhead of their religion, i.e., they are gods. So what was the point of Dio's antics? Who knows? I've never been able to figure that little dwarf out myself.

Iron Maiden picked up that satanic rap, when they released Number of the Beast in 1982. The albums you mention all feature Blaze Bayley on vocals and are not even considered true Iron Maiden recordings. Most fans won't even mention those CD's. Christianity has a history that unfortunately is soaked in blood. Murder is against the teachings of Christ, but Christ said that to commit murder all you had to do was think an unkind thought about another person, not join the Army.

I love those bands man, Satanic or not the pure hate and rage can be felt and it's powerful.
many of these Norweigan black metal bands blow up churches so I would say they are serious.
That said I don't care about their politics but it is my fav genre.

As a longtime metal fan, I must say that this thread is hilarious.

I would say that up to 90% of the bands who are mentioned as satanists are not. One thing to realize, is that after years of ridiculous accusations from Christianity and things like the PMRC back in the day, the majority of "anti-Christian" or "satanic" imagery is intended to poke fun at the image Christianity has created for metal.

So you have thousands of bands who might use the 666 symbol or something just to perpetuate the stereotype. It's mostly shock value and irony.

Case in point: I love the doom/sludge genre, and a band called Iron Monkey. I have a t-shirt of theirs with an ape's angry likeness inside a pentagram, with the numbers 666 in the pentagram.

And that band doesn't have a single thing to do with Satanism, or a single lyric that addresses ANY theology. It's merely a 'show of rebellion', if you will. As long as people will freak out about it, it will be used.

But hearing that Led Zeppelin, or AC/DC or any of that other stuff is Satanic is purely hilarious. I remember being indoctrinated with one of those anti-rock music films in my sunday school. They literally accused EVERYBODY of being a satanist. They misrepresented song titles, lyrics.....it's as if they felt the 'end justified the means'.

Yeah, there's waay too much of that. I find sites that mention stuff like that hilarious, yet depressing - people are giving up so much good music because of videos and websites like that.

A friend of mine has very very fundamentalist parents, and attempted to convince me that I was wrong for listening to rock music, and how it will 'mess me up', trying to tell me it's all about sex, drugs, and Satan.

I'm a rock musician, I play rock, I play metal, I play blues. I refuse to do any drugs at all, I'm saving myself for someone I deeply love, and I certainly don't worship Satan. So you can understand why I would be offended at the implications - they were implying that I, too, am evil.

I love metal, if you look into it (more than thrash and metalcore) there's metal music for every mood. Theres blues for every mood, jazz for every mood, rock for every mood etc.

I just think everyone should give all music a GOOD chance (not turn it on, say ew, and turn it off.. or hear that it's 'satanic' off of some site)
