If you like the rise of healthcare costs under the private sector, you'll love what will happen when they get total control of education in America.

What's even funnier is that most of the healthcare spending in the United States is by the government.

Because sometimes :doh: doesn't quite cut it.

What? The increasing regulation and legal hoops of healthcare wasn't obvious to you? The government is regulating healthcare to quite high costs.

What's already happened is that government educational charges have skyrocketed.

Tell ya what: run the public school system in an area based on the average Catholic school charge for school, and then we'll talk about who has more manageable demands of cost.

You've brought up creationism several times. You haven't mentioned anything about reading, writing, or math scores; you haven't mentioned history, civics, or even anything in science other than creationism. You haven't mentioned graduation rates or college attendance or any other measure of school success. I would say we should judge different approaches to schooling by these measures, and if we find that locally controlled schools measure up better, then we should promote local control of schools. Would you not agree?

Because theres not a huge fight to keep math, writing, reading, etc, out, but there is a huge fight to keep evolution out, which is a huge part of natural biology. Theres not a huge fight to keep math, writing, reading, etc in, but there is a huge fight to put creationism in.

That doesn't answer my question. Should we evaluate different approaches to school administration based on graduation rates, college attendance, test scores in all subjects, and other common-sense methods? Should we choose the method of administration that does the best by these measures? Or should we accept an inferior method of administration (namely the federal government controlling almost everything) merely because in your mind it's necessary to prevent creationism from being taught in some places?
