My doctrinal beliefs are based on scripture and experience. Seeing God clearly, face to face, is not the norm and not necessary for a believer. It's a gift given according to God's wisdom and at his discretion for His purposes. If you've had it you know it and can never deny it. These are incomparably profound experiences that cause legs to buckle; one cannot remain standing. You're speaking of what most people know, inspirational and intellectual concepts gleaned from a book. But God and the knowledge of Him are not confined to a book, any Book.
Very true statement, and a verse I use frequently. It doesn't apply in our conversation here, however
We are changed into the same image from glory to glory now.
We see as in a mirror darkly, but when the day star arises in our hearts the light shines in that darkness.
It is all by belief, through hearing and believing those testimonies of Christ giving us that light.
Life and immortality is brought to light through the Gospel.
God commanded all men to repent, so all can do. ( no point saying it is exclusive when that denies Christ being given to die for the world.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
Ephesians 5:14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
2 Timothy 1:10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
It is necessary for all those who repent from the darkness of satan, to see God in the face/light of Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
Acts 26:18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
1 Corinthians 13:10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
