I didn't know you all were an actual church, I thought you were just a general Christian Charity. Please, tell me a little about your denomination.

In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, may God bless you all. Amen.:crossrc:

And you should see us with tambourines!!!

I go to a pentacostal church called "first assembly of God" it's a pretty fun church, we do the tambourines too, well, only a few people who get really into it. I don't have one, but I have a little egg shaker thing, it's fun!

The sword is one of God's weapons. Its the word of God, The Bible. And it is a deadly weapon against the devil.
It's from Ephesians 6:10-18.

but Ephisians 6:10-18 talks about the spiritual armor. The way I see it all least, God is not talking about man made weapons, he wants us to use his word as a weapon against the devil. The way to put on the armor of God would be through prayer, and the way to put it into action would be through his word. How does the salvation army interprets Ephisians 6:10-18?

The sword is the Bible. If you look at my avatar, you will see the crest of the Salvation Army. The dots are known as 'gospel shots' and represent the scripture that every Christian needs to know to defend themselves against the devil and the world. Back it the olden days, when Salvationists often were physically attacked for preaching Jesus out of doors, they would form a protective circle, and 'fire a volley' meaning they would shout out scripture to help them stay strong under persecution.

It must be remember that the military imagery of the Salvation Army is not worldly but biblical. It's one of the things that makes us who we are.

with the armour of God you should notice that the sowrd is the only 'attack" peice the rest are peices of protection. all we need to do to put it on is to ask God. eg pray it on. we build up and maintain each peice by reading the bible, praying and seeking God.
