:D Are souls phyisical? No I would think... Can they hear us? Spiritually speaking sure there is not reason that they should not. If we are spiritual being (that we are) we cannot "lose" our nature when we die just losing our bodies. Our spirit lives in God and our soul rests in God if we are righteous and among the saints that is obvious in the Scripture. The ones who are "baptized in Christ have put on Christ" if we are 'living" in Christ how can we ever die? Physical life is NOT spiritually living in Christ. Passing on to the next life is not 'dying" in our spirit or our soul.

I did. I asked YOU.

Not that I know of. Thus, how do they specifically hear the specific petitions of all 2 billion plus believers on earth, at the same time, even unspoken ones, and ERGO pass these specific, particular petitions (all of them) on to the Father who ERGO is more apt to reply to them in the say the two billion on earth desire, especially if said saint is their patron saint of their job?

Now, IF you want to say that souls become all-knowing, then I follow - they don't hear but they know EVERYTHING. Got it. But then we have some new evidence/substantiation to look at. And if you say that at the sound of the bell, souls turn into angels - you've changed the whole thing again.

.
I haven't the slightest idea what happens to souls after death, I do know they do not have a physical body. So any evolutionary thing is silly if God wants to give them all hearing its His prerogative.

If not, then tell me how that Satan and his demons are able to be so crafty and everywhere all at the same time in order to tempt us Christians? Did they derive these powers on their own by their own craftiness? Surely not.

What abilities then, would God have in store for his glorified chosen ones, the elect, those who have fallen asleep in Him and who are part of His own body, helping to fight the spiritual warfare alongside with the Angels against Satan and his army, and to assist and equip the Christian militants here on earth?

Would God not equip His heavenly Saints with at least equal force as his angels then; those whom he will eventually raise higher than the angels, after it is all said and done?

To believe this is not only very naive but is to be totally unaware of the fact that Satan is enjoying some of his greatest success in the religious institutions by dividing Believers, especially over non-salvation issues, and convincing them to believe non-biblical doctrine and getting them to focus on defending these rather than following the Lord's command to "Go into all the world..." and "Love one another...". Every "Christian" religious institution contains some true Believers but to assume every one is a Believes is to be deceived.

Coming from you, I regard that as a compliment. So, thanks muchly.

Imo stan is far happier with religious bigotry than with those who embrace their brothers and sisters and decline to stand in judgement of their relationship with the Lord. It is the bigots who divide the church, by attempting to sow discord, unhappiness, discontent and judgementalism. And in case it is not glaringly obvious, none of this is the fruit of the Spirit.

Now, how does the question of whether there is a Lutheran who doesn't own a dog provide the evidence that upon death, as a soul ascends into heaven, his/her ears undergo an evolutionary leap so that their sense of hearing can detect the prayers of all 2 billion or so believers (even if all at the same time, even if unspoken) and ERGO they pass on all these specific, particular petitions to the Father who ERGO is more likely to respond to them in a way the believer desires, especially if such a soul is the patron saint of the believer's job? The issue is not "Do some people pray to the saints?" I don't think that's an issue in dispute.

I am surprised you manage to believe anything at all, given this degree of scepticism and determined absurdity.

I am not sure I even want to begin to unpack all of this; it is simply nonsensical in the extreme, and bears no relation whatever to the communion of saints as taught by the church.

 Truly inspirational. We were required to read the lives of the saints for our Sunday school. Great examples to emulate from. Thus our names are taken from the saints :)
