I don't feel safer, but in fact I probably AM safer, due to the increased security. I felt safe before, because I didn't realize the danger. Now I suspect danger more often. I do feel we are more hated now.....but I also feel that it would have been much easier for those who hate us to attack us before. And it was, apparently, quite easy. :(

I guess we probably are safer even tho I don't feel like we are, we do have stiffer security at our airports, but with the world opinion so negative towards us since the Iraq thing I am alot more conscience of danger than ever before. I do feel as tho we have alot more enemies now than ever before also and that does worry me, and I feel that the world opinion of the U.S. is worse than it has ever been.

In the Arab world Israel is seen as an aggressive regime that is illegally occupying Arab lands and more importantly Muslim Holy sites.

Recognition of the aggression and frequent illegality of Israel's regime is hardly limited to the "Arab world", but yes, this is probably one reason.

Did nobody see my post on page 4? Look at those sources.

We are not safer. You cannot eliminate terrorism by killing terrorists! And you especially dont eliminate terrorism by launching into an unrelated war that is seen by the rest of the world as a personal vendetta, an attempt to build an Empire, and an attempt to control oil.

Read what the IISS has to say about all this.

Can I say that where you live, has lot to do with your safety comfort level. Where I, going into NYC everyday, sometimes feel like a sitting duck!! Come to NYC and live or commute here you won't feel so safe then as the National Guardsmen greet you when you get off the train with machine guns and bomb sniffing dogs. Then you think to yourself, they are going to just go right along with me if something was to happen because there really isn't enough of them to do anything, it's a facade of safety. Alas you just have to go on with life though. When 9/11 happened I was taking the bus into the city and for a long time riding through the Lincoln tunnel was extremely unnerving.

No I don't feel safer I feel more targeted than ever actually.

Let's face facts though, what are they going come after in Arkansas :p

How about a nuclear reacter just miles away from a city of hundreds of thousands? :)

Let's just look at a few ideas here.....

1. Arkansas has virtually no increased security

2. As I mentioned, a nuclear reactor setting next to its capitol

3. Security around NY makes it a much harder target than Arkansas

If I was a terrorist, I'd look for someplace with less security, somewhere they'd least expect me to strike, yet some place that provides the oppurtunity to kill hundreds of thousands in one swipe making hijacked airplanes look like child's play...aka, a nuclear reactor. I would also consider the Little Rock area due to the high number of muslim students that attend the local university, providing an enviroment where it wouldn't be out of the ordinary to see a group of young, arabic men associating. Personally, if I was a terrorist, I'd find something like Arkansas a very choice target.

Take out the words "muslim" and "arabic" and put in the words "black" and "colored", and you describe Little Rock 40 years ago.

Zzzzzz....and what was the point of that statement? That didn't even make sense. :| What, in the name of Odin and all that is holy in Valhalla, does that have to do with the topic??? Note to liberals: stop derailing threads!! :p
