  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Let's just hope the guerilla warfare and terrorism stops now. Otherwise it's just a empty victory. We need our people back home, now.

Let's keep Iraq save first, and treat them nicely too. No more senseless suspicions, let us rally alone with Iraqis and work together, respectfully.

It's not gonna stop, slow down perhaps, but not stop for a while. Even Gen Sanchez knows this isn't the end and has said as much. It should help gain support among Iraqis though. Hard to say how much of the opposition is made up of Iraqis or foriegn fighters.

no we need them to stay until the job is done.
Yes, and not a moment later than that. If the attacks stop, then other nations will help carry the load. That's what I think we need to see.

alonesoldier: Thank God almighty on High to hear you say "go unions". I'm very impressed. :) One day, you may even need a union. Support the Iraqi union movement!

IF Bush plays this properly (and not try to snub all his allies as he has done so frequently), he can actually forge a new (real) coalition that is willing to share real burdens.

If he is smart, he'll refrain from making public comments while he sends Powell or Baker around the world.

I think that Bush has a very narrow window of opportunity to actually get real international co-operation in Iraq. A statesman like Churchill or FDR would have been up to the challenge. Can Bush seize this opportunity to make real progress in Iraq?

Yeah, he looked sad, I almost felt sorry for him. He is an old man, but he is also a cold blooded killer who had chidlren torchered infront of their parents. He doesn't look like a monster but he is.

just a minor gripe, but I was quite happy throughout the news conference until the general closed with "God bless America".

I was like, what the?

Isn't this supposed to be about Iraq, and not about America?

ok, just a minor gripe, but it really shows what the good general is concerned about first and foremost: definitely not Iraq.

One anyalist is saying we should listen carefully to what North Korea, Syria and Iran have to say about it. Seeing a dictator in custody sends the message that if you brutalize you own people the United States may lead a coallition to come in, outst you from power and capture you. haha.. It would be so cool if this scared the axis of evil straight.

You think I'm patriotic? Imagine what I would be like if I were a four star general! He ends all of his press conferenes like that. He could have added God Bless Iraq to it though.
three stars.

but I don't think its appropriate to say it in a foreign country, let alone one you are occupying.

but anyway, as I said it's a minor gripe & I don't want to hijack this topic.

It's a good day for Iraq.

nope.
the only thing that it will do is make them get their WMD even more quickly.
N Korea -- tick
Iran -- tick
Syria -- question mark.
