• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together.   • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I read your post and thought about Elijah in 1 Kings 19:4. In spite of the great things he'd done in the Lord's Name, he still hit a stumbling block in his life and hit rock bottom. But the Lord had not left Him but instead enabled Elijah to take time out and recharge.

We (myself included) have times where it seems so dark and seems as though it won't get any better, but be encouraged it'll pass over time.

I know it doesn't feel like it now but just do what you've done with your post, cry out to the Lord, petition Him the way the Psalmists did.

He's promised us that He will never leave nor forsake us.

I've just lifted you up in prayer and I pray that you will be given the strength to endure.

You are definitely not beyond hope or remedy. I agree with Lotuspetal. In times of intense battle, I turn to the psalms because I feel that David experienced so much as I experience today. He was battled with - he was depressed, sad and even did the unthinkable - murder and adultery! But he was loved by God and He was restored after the bad things he did because he turned back to God.

Hang in there girl. I too have said a prayer for you just now, and I pray you will find the strength to hold tight through the difficult times.

don't feel guilty for not 'handling trials in a picture perfect chistian manner'... lol. i'm not sure there is such a thing. i just know that in the mist of trials, faults, questions, and even complaints and doubts: 100% love, mercy, grace, forgiveness, salvation, and adoration from God; for just being His, is an unconditional gift.

see, He is not laughing at your trials. you are like an honored child even in correction. practice this thinking every time you catch yourself in discouragements.

You have to rest in the Lord and do it by Faith and not by what you are feeling. Jesus Christ was a Man of sorrows and fully acquainted with grief, but he has stuck by my side, even when I was far from him. Know that God's ways are higher than ours and his Understanding is inscrutable.
