  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

ALL Witnesses have testified that the cop aimed and fired directly at the boy. The Video shows them calmly leaving the scene after the shooting. The cop says that he fired in the air; Where did the bullet ricochet from, the clouds?

Their lawyer Alexis Kougias was reprimanded for his allegations against the boy by the Legal council.

If their life was in danger why did they come back to the scene after parking their car 100 metres away? They calmly walked towards the boys screaming obscenities.

Every single witness (not affiliated between themselves and the boy) have collaborating testimonies. Whereas the two cops have differing statements and the shooter has changed his statement.

Go ahead and pretend that the cops are always right. Go ahead and blame the youth. Just don't be surprised when you are rudely awakened by their insolence!

This Gun Ho attitude is what messed up this world in the first place.

I have nothing more to add.

You need to start looking at the world in shades of gray.

Yes I agree but! Death is death. There are no shades to death.

We disregard our youth and blame them for our shortcomings. We borrowed their future only to return it burdened by collapsing economies, Corrupt governments, Totally inhuman banking systems, climate change, University Diplomas that are not worth their weight in paper as far as getting a job is concerned; And we are surprised when they lift their fists in insolence?

Is it a coincidence that the youth of other countries are holding photos of Alexandros Grigoropoulos in support of the rioters in Greece?

That when the riot police arrest minors in Greece; the pedestrians (of parent age) intervene to have them released while chanting "COPS MURDERERS"?

Revolutions happen because we learn nothing from history!

Perhaps a child's life is not worth the same in some countries.

Of course, we can expect "the Right" to preemptively construct conspiracy theories about "the Left" constructing conspiracy theories.

I am just saying: with forensic evidence saying that the bullet was ricocheted, what else is there to conclude?

Let's make a conspiracy.

Well, why would the bullets have marks indicating a ricochet in it?

I am guessing the angry, rioting witnesses who were desiring to throw a petrol bomb disagree with the Police. Big surprise.

Who are you going to trust? A bunch of rioting youth or the people who are paid to lay their lives down for you?

How much money do you make a year, Tanzanos?

I think usually people who grow up in rougher neighborhoods and have working class jobs have better appreciations for the reality of these situations.

Why, you do view the world in terms of black and white, don't you? No such thing as a bad cop in your universe, I wager...

There are bad cops, of course.

However, I think bad cops are outnumbered by 'bad' rioting youths.

Firstly it has not been announced officially announced that the bullet suffered ricochet damage. Secondly the bullet hit the heart in a downward angle and ricocheted off the spinal column. This explains why the bullet is SMOOTHLY deformed on one side.

NONE of the Witnesses were RIOTING. Amongst the main witnesses are Shopkeepers (of the neighbourhood), patrons (Cafeterias of the neighbourhood) passers-by. Most witnesses are adults and some middle aged.

Forensics have shown that no petrol bombs were thrown and no projectiles of any kind were evident in the vicinity (as can be seen by the video of the cops CALMLY walking towards the boys, Calmly shooting and Calmly walking away).

The cops were SPECIFICALLY ORDERED to VACATE the SCENE; which they ignored. They Pulled a Gun which is prohibited under the circumstances.

How much money do I make????? Less than 1,000 Euros per month and work 14 hrs per day of which I do not get paid the extra time. What has that to do with a whole nation up in arms against the Government?

What you see on your local news is NOT what is happening. For sensationalism; the Media are portraying all protesters as Hooligans. This is not true. Who would I trust? Definitely not the Cop who changed his testimony twice, and who has publicly expressed his desire to shoot protesters. He is known by his colleagues as RAMBO. I will trust the people who defend the name of the boy who GAVE HIS LIFE!

You are obviously TOTALLY ignorant of the reality here in Greece. This cop is lucky we do not have the death penalty but; they will have a hard time finding a prison willing to accept him. Inmates who have children do not take kindly to child molesters and or Child Murderers!

As Gavin DeBecker explained in The Gift of Fear, guns are just tools used to create a veil of protection. People can protect themselves with a little common sense and education without a gun. Guns simply beget more violence - crime will happen with or with out it because criminals find a way around the gun. America has an extremely high crime rate. Japan has a very small one. In America, guns are entirely legal. In Japan, even cops can't have them. What does that tell you? Here's a few more hints. In Japan, community and education are extremely important. In America, we cut our education funds so we can put it in our militia. Get the hint yet? There is no correlation between crime and how armed our police are. There is more likely a correlation with how much respect there is in our community.

In a country with such a wide gap between races, rich and poor, etc. of course there will conflict. Instead of doing anything to appease that conflict though, we add more money to our weaponry. That doesn't help. Guns are just like abortion - a seemingly simple solution that just creates bigger problems. AND FOR THE RECORD, you can't be pro-life and pro-gun.
