  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

" Only half of adults interviewed nationwide could name any of the four Gospels of the New Testament. " Just 37% of those interviewed could name all four Gospels. " Only 42% of adults were able to name as many as five of the Ten Commandments correctly. " Seven in ten (70%) were able to name the town where Jesus was born, but just 42% could identify him as the person who delivered the Sermon on the Mount. (ix)

When dealing with surverys rember these are the people willing to be interviewed at home during dinner time :) And alot could depend on how one askes the question.

For example can you name book 47,48,49,and 50 of the Catholic Bible with out looking?

I agree, but in reality the intellectual vacuum among the majority of Christians is embarrassing and even more because it is about their own faith.

First year teaching PSR to 9th grade and would have to say sadly that those figures are probably accurate. Asked the same question about the Gospels to our class and no one got them all. They can now of course, but would have thought by 9th grade they would have picked this bit up along the way.
