Hi Sunshine

Welcome to the Forum.

Do not be discouraged or afraid of anyone here, it is very usual thing on all forums.

People divided on many psychological groups, but on forums in general about three groups of people are present.

The First group of people makes posts and answers in order to improve themselves in the knowledge and understanding of the Word of GOD, to learn from others and to express their own opinion on the basis of the Bible.

The Second group of people are those who participating in discussions only for the sake to create arguments, controversies, quarrels, and feuds. They do not know Bible and do not understand the essence of it, but they want to be participants of something, because usually they have been rejected by other social and religious entities of our society, and so they interfering here in order to find a place for themselves among those who otherwise would reject them in ordinary live circumstances.

The Third group is psychopaths; you can recognize them easily when they expressing their anger and posted something what does not make any sense. They often demand verses of the Bible to be given to them precisely as they want to see them. And even if you presented those verses according to their demand, they do not read them, but still keep insisting to show the verses they expected to see.
The will go circles and chase their own tail, and never will come up with anything meaningful, but always will demand from you more and more, and of course accuse you of lying.

Actually here is the Fourth group of people you can find on the forums, they are people with very high ego, who think about themselves as a greatest theologians ever. They also ignore straight verses and statements of the Bible, but always stand by the dogmas and doctrines of their denominations, or by their own opinion which is not always right and correct, but it never bothers them. They also will argue with you until complete exhaustion no matter how many undeniable facts you may presented to them.

Surely some folks will ask me here, “To what group you yourself belong?” So I belong to the groups of people who improving themselves in the knowledge and understanding of the Word of GOD by having conversation with other people, who have the same goal and the reason to be here, to learn from one another, which is actually the original purpose and goal of all Christians forums like this one.

I learned a lot from other people, thanks to such forums, majority of whom have better knowledge and understanding than me, and this is truly help me to improve myself in the knowledge and understanding of Word of GOD.

And I am very glad that I found and on this forum people who have the same opinion concerning Sabbath as I am, and it is certainly worth while to be here.

Sunshine, do not be dismay by anyone, but reply to fools according to their foolishness, or just ignore them. I do it, and it works fine with me.

GOD bless you all

Alex

This thread like most sabbatarian contains multiple hit and run statements using partial scriptures taken out of context. I should have given alex2165 the benefit of the doubt, and ask him to explain, rather than putting him into category 2 and 3 of his own declaration.

I'm all in for a reasonable discussion of your OP. You first said.......

Not sure that you have settled that Sabbath is more that a day of rest without further clarification along with those texts.

Now let's examine if your giving us understanding or implying addition to God's word.
The first 'drive by' is: (a) Who is God talking to? Is He talking to the children of Israel or the whole world? (What is the truth in these scriptures?)

Ex20:8 is a simple command to keep the Sabbath. Commentaries have made this truth confusing by long definition of what "remember" could mean.
Moses explained in Deut 5 exactly what Ex20:8 means. Moses said; " I was between you and God...... when He commanded you to keep the Sabbath."
...............................................................
Ex20:9 (b)If six days are for doing all your work, what else can we say the seventh day is primarily for??? (What is the truth?)
..............................................................
Ex20:10 explains, you shall do no work, your family shall do no work, your slaves shall do no work, your animals shall do no work, aliens(strangers) living in your camp shall do no work. (Where do you get that Sabbath is more than a day of rest?)
.................................................................
Ex20:11 explains that God worked 6day and rested on the 7th....... (Where do you get that Sabbath is more than a day of rest?)

The fact that God rested on the seventh day because He was finished all His work in six days is the reason and model for the Sabbath. (Where do you understand from these scriptures that Sabbath is more than a day of rest?)

The fact that God blessed and sanctified both seventh day of creation and also the sabbath day, does not change what God did on that day or what God explained to be done on that day.
Help us to understand how Sabbath is more than a day of rest?

Over at http://www.christianforums.com/t7817161/ I am having a discussion with an honest non-Adventist Sabbatarian who readily admits that St. Paul must be jettisoned from the Bible for Sabbath Keeping to remain sustainable. In the meantime, Seventh Day Adventist Theologians have quietly been developing this theory for several years, while at the same time publicly twisting and torturing the Pauline Epistles to support Sabbath Keeping.

It turns out even Seventh Day Adventist Theologians that are employed by the church have long realized that the Sabbath-keeping trash you see in these forums is not supportable from the Bible.

Where is these scriptures saying that God is testing a different group of people? Where is these scriptures saying that God testing the world with the Sabbath? Unless you clarify, it appears that your commentary is contradicting the understanding of the scriptures that you're posting.

No but God promised to do so and did as Jesus, His only begotten dear Son testified.

Sure sounds like you're talking about yourself with just enough cover to exclude yourself.

There is yet another group of people found here - those evangelizing looking for suckers (converts) to their religion. They aren't preaching nor teaching orthodox Christianity. They don't accept the whole Bible either.

I am not here for the purpose to change anyone’s mind or convert anyone to some sort of doctrine foreign to you guys, but I presented my point of view and facts from the Bible as it seems right to me. I did not make up the verses I presented, I copied them from the Bible, they are not mine but GOD’S.

And I understand those statements in my own way, not necessarily in your way (forgive me). So why we should fight something what would never change, and be suspicious of some conspiracy theories of mine.

There is no any conspiracy in my post, so please do not freak out with conspiracy theories and hidden agendas.

I am not a Seventh Day Adventist, and I do not know if they obey Sabbath or not, I care less.

And if for you guys my point of view about Sabbath looks like the “Sabbath-keeping trash” as Larry mentioned in his reply, well, so let it be, I do not want to argue about it, but respect your opinion no matter how rude or ungodly it may be.

But concerning my point of view on the Sabbath Day, it is up to GOD to judge who among us is right and who is wrong.

My remarks about "Sabbath Keeping Trash" are extremely mild compared to those of Ignatius of Antioch and Polycarp, both long-term First Century disciples of John the Gospel Writer. And Ignatius became the Bishop of Antioch, after St. Peter left for Rome, making him also a disciple of St. Peter.

Both Ignatius and Polycarp harshly denounced "Sabbath Keeping" as the "Judaizing/Ebionite" Heresy that was forcibly and permanently excommunicated from Christianity and termed an outright tool of the Devil. None of the early leaders of Christianity allowed Christians to follow this anti-Christian, anti-Gospel heresy. Sabbath Keeping is designed to distract from, and degrade and denigrate the Resurrection. That's all it can accomplish. It is a dead and obsolete day that can only detract from Christianity's central belief in the Resurrection.

Those two early Christian Martyrs obviously developed their extreme hatred of anti-Christian Sabbath-Keeping straight from the mouths of the original Apostles. There is no compatibility between Christianity and Sabbath Keeping. They do not mix. Never have, never will.

This has been known for 2,000 years. There is nothing new being discussed on this thread.

Why would I say this???? After reading the OP several times, I found every comment attached to the scriptures as a deliberate intent to decieve.
Some see my response as a personal attack on the messenger. Some see my response as a rejection of his message.
Definition of LIE...........

noun 1. a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive; an intentional untruth; a falsehood. Synonyms: prevarication, falsification. Antonyms: truth.

2. something intended or serving to convey a false impression; imposture: His flashy car was a lie that deceived no one.

3. an inaccurate or false statement; a falsehood.

4. the charge or accusation of telling a lie: He flung the lie back at his accusers.

verb (used without object), lied, ly·ing. 5. to speak falsely or utter untruth knowingly, as with intent to deceive. Synonyms: prevaricate, fib.

6. to express what is false; convey a false impression.

My definiton of a 'lie' is 'absent of truth'. God's word is truth.

One major lie I see in the OP is......
This guy is saying that God is testing the entire world by the sabbath.

The scriptures that he is using to make this claim, shows that God is testing only the children of Israel. The fact that God said "between me and them" excludes 99% of the world from the Sabbath.

If its your testimony why are you posting it in a debate section and why are you going on about it? Seems to me it really isn't a testimony.

You did say you're not SDA, so I ask you if you're maybe SDR or some other branch of the SDA? They like others have their share of splits.

he who views a list of Bible texts and finds that his doctrine requires him to call those texts a "list of lies" should pay less attention to his own story telling - and more attention to the WORD of God.
Bob, Im not calling bible texts a "list of lies"? You're not paying attention.
The rest of this post is ....you dont want my opinion.

The rest of this post is ....you dont want my opinion.

Jehovah's Witnesses and Branch Davidians used and use many of the same list of discombobulated texts as Seventh Day Adventists, and yet nobody disputes that clearly their doctrines are "lists of lies." I see no distinction between the way those two cults misuse scripture and the way Seventh Day Adventism misuses scripture to formulate noxious and unbiblical doctrine. The JWs and the Branch Davidians are, after all, off-shoots of the Mother Cult, Seventh Day Adventism. Nobody could spew "lists of texts" better than Jim Jones as he was calling his followers forward to drink the Kool-Aid. All cults have formidable "lists of texts" that support absolute nonsense and garbage. Moonies, People's Temple, Mormonism, Children of God, The Way International, Worldwide Church of God.....ALL had impressive lists of scriptural "support" and all of them were noxious and anti-Christian cults.

Of course "lists of texts" can be nothing more than "lists of lies!"

Oh I forgot: Seventh Day Adventists, Moonies, Branch Davidians, Children of God, The Way International, Worldwide Church of God, Jehovah's Witnesses all had their PROPHETS that give their Scripture Sculpting of disconnected sentence fragments the imprimatur of "Truth." And their "Prophets" ALL had some subjective experience that gave their cults a leg up on all other cults: Ellen White had her beautiful young man spirit guide; Joseph Smith had his Golden Plates; Victor Paul Weirwille had his snow on the gas pump vision in July, God personally told David Koresh to have sex with dozens of 13 year old girls.....the list goes on an on.

Just because a blatantly non-Christian doctrine has a formidable-sounding list of proof texts taken wildly out of context and seeminly supporting it is not one bit impressive.

Why are you so angry?
When people make multiple claims in long post it seems unbearable and time consuming to address.
If you detect anger from me it's because even Satan knew from the beginning; the way to lead people from truth is by lies attached to what God really said.
My best answer to your question is: Because the long list of which I deem as lies takes time and labor to address. More often than not, the poster has no intention to revisit each statement they have woven together with scriptures. God's word is the truth. The house will burn down and the baby will die before the truth is established. We should be able to discuss and asked people to clarify their attachments to the word.
I have to admit...I should be more tactful.:o:o:o

It is called preaching in a debate area, when you use all the replies in threads to the OP as an opportunity to post more "preachy" stuff instead of engaging in a debate or trying to refute things you find yourself doing nothing to arguing with a cut and paste robot in the end. Too often in threads I see people looking for a keyword in a reply post to sift through their library of text to paste something in a thread instead of using their mind and logic they are akin to a robot following a script.

It's like playing "whack-a-mole," as they repeat the same tired old "Ellen-White-Had-a-vision-of-a-4th-Commandment-wearing-a-halo" nonsense. That's really all this is: for 2,000 years straight, Christianity taught that Seventh Day Adventism in its earlier guises as the Judaizing/Ebionite movements were non-Christian Satanic heresy. Although in the current iteration, Ellen White is in Heaven in her 1880's Victorian fashion gawking over the 4th Commandment glowing and glistening FAR AND ABOVE anything else in the Bible.

Seventh Day Adventists aren't even original enough to improve on the Ebionite text lists! Why is everyone paying attention to their trash like it is something new? The only thing "new" is some laughable, stomach-churning "art" showing Jesus in Levitical Heavenly Vestments presiding over Heavenly animal sacrifices. And another of Ellen White in dowdy 1880's era Victorian dresses gawking at a 4th Commandment in bright neon in letters 50 feet tall, far surpassing ANYTHING else in the Bible.
