It's ok Bob, Christ kept and fulfilled the laws because He knew we could not. We are no longer under the law, but under grace. His greatest commandment is the one I strive to keep, love God and love my neighbor.

Romans 8:4-9 says the saints keep the Commandments of God and of the lost who are at war with God it says "they do not submit to the Law of God neither indeed CAN they"

By contrast - New Covenant Christians have "My LAW written on their mind and on their heart" Heb 8:6-10, Jer 31:31-33.

Which is why Paul can say "what matters is KEEPING the Commandments of God" 1 Cor 7:19
And is why John says "the saints KEEP the Commandments of God AND their faith in Jesus" Rev 14:12

In other words that fact that Christ was the only sinless one - did not negate/delete the Bible doctrine about the saints keeping the Commandments of God.

================================ hence this post - that will never be answered.

All efforts to oppose the Commandments of God can be resolved by answering this simple question

===========================

If you oppose the Commandments of God in NT times - then answer this question -

In Eph 6:2 - "honor your father and mother for this is the first commandment with a promise" -- what Law - what unit of Law is it to be found that 'honor your father and mother" is the FIRST commandment with a promise??

First commandment where?

========================= next

having provided the obvious answer to that question - the next point is addressed by Mark 7 declaring that God's law cannot be edited/changed by church tradition.

Mark 7

7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
8 For laying aside the Commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
10 For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:
11 But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.
12 And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;
13 Making the Word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

======================= hence the answer to the OP

Ex 20:8-11 says the 7th day is a day of rest.
Lev 23:1-4 says it is reserved as a day of worship and is kept from sunset Friday to sundown Saturday evening.
Is 66:23 says it is to be a day of worship for "All mankind to come before Me and worship".
Mark 2:27 says it was 'made for mankind'
Rev 14:7 says to "WORSHIP Him who MADE the heavens and the earth the seas and all that is in them"
Rev 14:12 says the saints "keep the Commandments of God and their faith in Jesus"

So it is possible that you want to keep Sabbath because you know you are part of "mankind"

How about beautifying God's Sabbath?

In Mark 7 the Jewish magisterium decided to make it "their law" and they could tweak it however they wished.

Hence the Words of Christ in Mark 7:6-13

And the post with two simple questions that can ever be answered by some. 6 minutes ago #21

As if the post does not even "exist"

How about beautifying God's Sabbath?

How about a little grace for someone just getting started? The very earliest Christian catechism outside the New Testament, called the Didache, encourages new believers to do what they are able of the Lord's commandments. It also promotes growth in their observance.

I have only been quoting the Bible. My job is to point to what the Bible says not to insist that others be at a certain level of conformance to it.

If the Bible statements on the subject "alone" are offensive or too difficult - let that rest with the reader however they wish to deal with it. Everyone has free will.

If you will look at the New Testament, you will see that most of the persecution of the first Christians comes from the Jews.
.

Non Christian Jews do engage in persecution - yet also - as we see in Acts 13 ... NonChristian Jews invite Christians to speak.

Acts 13
15 After the reading of the Law and the Prophets the synagogue officials sent to them, saying, “Brethren, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, say it.” 16 Paul stood up, and motioning with his hand said,“Men of Israel, and you who fear God, listen:

True - many Christians Jews in that example. But those in Acts 13 were not Christian Jews inviting Paul to speak - rather even the non-Christian Jews were inviting him to speak.

Some have said in the past that Paul always followed the law.

This means that on the day Stephen was stoned, Paul was being a good Torah observant Jew while he was holding the coats of those killing Stephen.
Yes. He was following the law of Moses.

It also means Paul was following the law when he had the early Christians imprisoned and beaten in the synagogues.
Yes. He was following the law of Moses.

When Paul did those things he was blameless in the sight of the law of Moses.

However, Paul was not blameless in the sight of Jesus who blinded him on the road to Damascus and wanted to know why he was persecuting the members of His Body.

.

Act 22:7 And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

Act 22:8 And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.

Act 22:19 And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on thee:

Act 22:20 And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the raiment of them that slew him.

Being blameless in the sight of the law and being blameless in the sight of Christ are not the same thing, based on Paul's experience.

Not too surprising that even the non-Christian Jews were inviting the Christians to the Synagogue - to speak as in Acts 13.

The Bible says it is for rest and worship.

It can be reading the Bible, it can be seeing God's work in nature.

But monopoly seems to be a bit of a non-worship activity. IMHO.
Please post one scripture from the bible saying that Sabbath is a day of or day for worship???

"From Sabbath to Sabbath shall ALL MANKIND come before Me to bow down" Is 66:23

Lev 23: 2 “Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘The Lord’s appointed times which you shall proclaim as holy convocations—My appointed times are these:
3 ‘For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a sabbath of complete rest, a holy convocation. You shall not do any work; it is a sabbath to the Lord in all your dwellings.

Acts 15
19 Therefore it is my judgment that we do not trouble those who are turning to God from among the Gentiles, 20 but that we write to them that they abstain from things contaminated by idols and from fornication and from what is strangled and from blood. 21 For Moses from ancient generations has in every city those who preach him, since he is read in the synagogues every Sabbath.

Luke 4
16 And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up; and as was His custom, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath, and stood up to read. 17 And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. And He opened the book and found the place where it was written,

Acts 17
2 And according to Paul’s custom, he went to them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures,

The Bible is clear....if your relationship with God is based on keeping the law you MUST keep the whole of the Law...to even fail in as much as a jot or tittle is to violate the whole law...and since "sin" that condemns is violation of the law then you would be condemned.

Now the whole point of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ is "we ARE all condemned" therefore salvation is BY grace, THROUGH faith....and that NOT OF OURSELVES. NO HUMAN (save Jesus) has or ever will be able to keep the whole Law (thus having failed in the smallest part is condemnable)...

No Israelite EVER attended Tabernacle. Temple, or Synagogue before the Jews (the remnants of the Kingdom of Judah) because this was not commanded by God...it was a tradition that developed centuries after the commandments were given (which were the Covenant of God with Israel and as Deut 5:3 tells us were not even given to their fathers)

The Holy Convocation on Sabbath according to YHVH in the Torah is to be "in your place" and "in your (personal) dwellings (plural)....

Jesus did it "as was His custom" (tradition) as likewise did the Apostles do this....Paul "as was His manner"...NOT because it was in obedience to any commandment. The whole synagogue system was a tradition started IN BABYLON by the Rabbis there to help the people not forget the teachings of God. No command is given to the NT ekklesia to keep the Sabbath because we think of God and worship God every day in every place (sabbathto sabbath, month to month...hence every day)...Christ IS our Sabbath....we rest IN HIM who fulfilled the Law.

Turns out - that is not true. There are a number of those "Holy Convocations" recorded in the OT - on the annual Sabbaths.

The Bible is clear....if your relationship with God is based on keeping the law you MUST keep the whole of the Law. .

The "either or" fallacy of "either honor your parents and be sinless to earn salvation" or "be saved by grace through faith" -- is a false idea that never worked ... in all of time.

Nobody is arguing that you have to "be sinless and earn your way to heaven" if you decide to "Honor your Parents" or Keep any of the other Ten Commandments.

This verse of ISA 66 is a prophecy of the last days on earth, not in heaven, saying that monthly and weekly is when mankind will gather to worship God. SDA tend to forget that the word Sabbath also defines a day not only sabbath keeping. By editing out "one moon to another" referencing monthly, this hides the fact that "one Sabbath to another" simply means weekly.

Should we ignore that your context proves that the first day of the week was also for holy convocations?
Lev 23:7 In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.

Typical stunt to ignore what James is saying that Gentiles should keep, in contrast to what Moses commanded ancient generations to keep.

SDA commentary often embellishes on Jewish history before the cross

Luke's letter tells us that Paul was sent from the church in order to convert the Jews wherever and whenever they gathered to worship.
