from: Russo-Ukrainian War - Wikipedia

"In March 2022, a week after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, 98% of Ukrainians – including 82% of ethnic Russians living in Ukraine – said they did not believe that any part of Ukraine was rightfully part of Russia, according to Lord Ashcroft's polls which did not include Crimea and the separatist-controlled part of Donbas. 97% of Ukrainians said they had an unfavourable view of Russian President Vladimir Putin, with a further 94% saying they had an unfavourable view of the Russian Armed Forces.[355]

At the end of 2021, 75% of Ukrainians said they had a positive attitude toward ordinary Russians, while in May 2022, 82% of Ukrainians said they had a negative attitude toward ordinary Russians.[356]

Russia has done a pretty good job of giving itself a black eye outside of Russia - even with its own Russian people living outside of the iron grip of the Russian Federation.

=====================

If 100,000 Russians are getting killed in Putin's war against Ukraine - then how does the Russian Orthodox Church in Moscow defend it as "a good thing"???

Russia appears to be trying to kill Ukrainians across that nation - by destroying their power grid in the cold of winter. how does the Russian Orthodox Church in Moscow defend it as "a good thing"???

Recently, I came across a sermon by a Russian priest on YouTube and I was shocked by the lie. He said that the Ukrainians stole their own energy resources and therefore now do not have fuel and electricity and therefore attacked Russia. Later I looked for reviews about this priest. Everyone writes about him that he is a very honest person and not prone to lies. So someone misinformed him. Some priests in Russia believe that the media is lying, so they do not watch TV or the Internet. They do it so they don't watch lies. But they willingly read what the hierarchs from Moscow write to them and perceive it as the truth. They don't even try to find out how it really is.

Here is another very famous priest in Russia, hieromonk Roman Matyushin, who wrote a poem:
Храни от ненависти сердце,
Когда настанет твой черёд,
Знай, никому не отсидеться —
Война Великая грядёт!

Остапи, сліпі чоловіки!
Почто родство трещит по швам,
И вами резанные пшеки
Любовью воспылали к вам?

In this poem, he first addresses the Russians so that everyone prepares for war. Then he turns to the Ukrainians and asks why the Ukrainians have forgotten their kinship with the Russians and now they have found new relatives - the Poles.

And he does not even try to delve into what the Ukrainians have experienced thanks to the Russian military-political leadership and the Russian military. That hundreds of thousands already are deprived of their lives or maimed, including children, millions are separated from their families, millions of destinies are broken, homes and infrastructure are destroyed. He asks: why did the Ukrainians forget that the Russians are their brothers?

This is one of those priests who is honest, but very gullible. They do not believe either TV or the Internet, but they believe any lie from the hierarchy.

This is my guess. I don't know for sure who misinforms Russian priests like that. But if a priest in Russia does not watch TV or the Internet and writes that the Ukrainians have forgotten their kinship and attacked the Russians, then where does he get such misinformation from?

It is true that the attitude of the residents of Ukraine towards Russia changed dramatically after February 24th. For example, Dr. Komarovsky (Living in Kharkov) was one of the most active defenders of the Russian language in Ukraine, after the outbreak of a full-scale war, began to tell the truth about what the Russian military is doing in Ukraine. As a result, he was called an enemy of Russia there:

Recently, I came across a sermon by a Russian priest on YouTube and I was shocked by the lie. He said that the Ukrainians stole their own energy resources and therefore now do not have fuel and electricity and therefore attacked Russia.

They have tried everything from
1. Ukraine bombed their own citizens to make people around the world mad at Russia
2. Ukraine committed war crimes against their own citizens after Russian Army leaves the territory -- to make people around the world mad at Russia
3. Ukraine bombs their own electric grid in winter -- to make people around the world mad at Russia

Makes you wonder about the IQ of the audience that Russia thinks they are playing to..

Multi-nation onsite inspection of the war crimes by Russia in Ukraine and Putin still tries to sell the story that nobody but those in charge of Russian propaganda tell the "truth" on planet Earth. How "believable" is that???

Take a look at the "Inside Russia" youtube channel by Constantine. Here a Russian citizen living in Moscow (and then recently escaped --- after mobilization was announced) rehearses the lies that Russia has been telling its own people since Feb 2022. Starting with "Ukrainians are our brothers and sisters we would never go to war with them". Then adding "There will be no mobilization of Russians to fight in a war in Ukraine" and going on to things like "we blew up all the HIMARS systems in Ukraine".

The problem they have (as with Iraq and "Bagdad Bob") is that after telling people that only 10 Russian soldiers were killed in the war (or some ridiculous number such as that) they then call for mobilization. After telling their own citizens that the Russian Army was winning at every turn - they suddenly announce "retreat".

That is the same statement you hear from Constantine about his fellow Russians. They want to believe the propaganda and besides it is somewhat risky to challenge it. (Try saying "Ukraine war" in Russia - for example.)
