  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

...not an overweight apologist for the Republican Party. :D

Speaking of Rush, has anyone noticed the political influences of their music?
Their concept album 2112, for example, is loosely based on the philosophy of Ayn Rand. Though they may only be a 70's Canadian prog-rock band, I'd still trust them more when it comes to politics than an arrogant windbag such as Limbaugh.
For an essay on Ayn Rand and her influence on Rush's music, check this out:

May peace be upon thee and with thy spirit.

Inhaled, eh?

A Passage To Bangkok

Our first stop is in Bogota
To check Colombian fields
The natives smile and pass along
A sample of their yield
Sweet Jamaican pipe dreams
Golden Acapulco nights
Then Morocco, and the East
Fly by morning light

[Chorus:]
We're on the train to Bangkok
Aboard the Thailand Express
We'll hit the stops along the way
We only stop for the best

Wreathed in smoke in Lebanon
We burn the midnight oil
The fragrance of Afghanistan
Rewards a long day's toil
Pulling into Katmandu
Smoke rings fill the air
Perfumed by a Nepal night
The Express gets you there

That's funny, I've always been told that the members of Rush were satanists.
Complete and utter nonsence by the 80s conservative anti-rock and roll facists.
Don't beleive everything you're told man. Go read their lyrics. Some of the best reading out there.
