  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

ummmm....I think you need to open your eyes to the TRUE mother of MMO's, or so I've heard, World of Warcraft...but if you just like it because it's free...I don't blame you, because I used to play it...but now it just seems so...just so darn stupid

I played Runescape for about 2 days. (Not straight!)

It's really trivial. Because it's free there are heaps of people on there trying to scam and basically be pains. Also, the amount of guys on there asking for 'girlfriends' ... I was asked numerous times and was told that all it entails is the girl following the boy around and she would be showered with gifts. Yay. Not.

The training bit went for waaay too long. I nearly gave up then. Then when I started doing quests, I really gave up. Most of the quests were simply - Go to X. Talk to knight. Go to Y. Get skull. Go back to X. Talk to knght again. Go back to Y. Then finally....yup, you guessed it...go back to X. Generally X and Y were on the opposite side of the map, so basically all a quest was, was wasting time walking through boyfriend/girlfriends, scammers and people saying "Hey, post your password!!"

Sorry, but it's really not for me. I am having a couple of guys move in with me and my roommate for a while and they both play WoW, so it'll be interesting to see if I try that out and like it.... My boyfriend hates it, so I might try to play it just to annoy him, lol. I'm more of a sims girl, but I'd like to play a game online that doesn't involve just killing things. Sims online would be perfect but I don't exactly have a legal copy.

Anyway. I started blabbering. Sorry.

WOW is....kinda lacking. They have so many people that the servers are somewhat unstable and the lag in serious collection points is UNBELIEVEABLE, even on low population servers.

The quests arent terribly immaginative. The only thing I can really give kudos to, is graphics. The opening movie is incredible and some of the lands are amazing (Elf lands especially)

I personally prefer EVE

I'm more of a sims girl,
Have you played The Sims 2?

well, thank you for that, I have never really heard anything downgrading it, so that will just entice me not to get it even more

Yes, I have Sims 2 with the expansion packs but I don't have the business one. At the moment, I'm trying out "The Movies" game, I like it, but I like being able to do other things at the same time - like be on CF, msn etc, so we'll see how it goes. I get bored easily :p

If it was free, Id say go for it, but you have the monthly fee so untill that disapears, Ill stick to EVE

This is the thing that prevents me from even trying WoW. I don't have the money to keep paying to play the game and to me, that seems rediculous. People might say it's a small amount (not that small, IMO) but it adds up over the months/years and can turn into a very expensive hobby.

If you want a game thats basically the same as WoW but costs nothing, try Silkroad (www.silkroadonline.net) its almost exactly the same and costs nothing. I just started playing it today :)

Its pretty good :) the only real problems Ive seen is the poor translation. The game was developed by a Korean company and was probably written in Korean. They didnt do too good a job translating everything into English so the sentences are a little choppy

I had a look at it...does it involve lots of fighting? That's what I don't really want to do - not one of those shoot-em, stab-em games.... ;)

LOL kill monsters game ... I like the definition. ;)

I might give it a go. I've got three guys playing CS over the network right now though, so I might download it later. ^_^

Its a pretty cool game, if you dont like killing, you can be a merchant. Buy and sell stuff in different towns, but be careful, there are thieves who will attack your caravan and steal your stuff. But you can hire hunters to protect your caravan :)

But you will have to kill monsters for experience

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silkroad Heres some more info :)
