  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Jared nodded slowly, he knew the song. move on Jared, you know better then to get involved in other people's lives. who cares what he looks like, you know better then to get emotional.

Jared glanced towards the door, the sun wasn't close to setting, he could still get in a lot of trainning today, he didn't need to revisit his past. However, no matter what Jared told himself he couldn't leave, not just yet.

"So... you live around here? haven't seen you around before," Jared asked.

"If we're going to chat," Eli said to the man, "then feel free to sit down."
"My name's Liam," he introduced himself, using an assumed name he had used countless times before, "and you're right, I'm not from around here. I came into town with my father."
Then suddenly, and completely off topic, Eli shouted, "Tale of the Water Bird, that's what the song was called!"

Sable had left to get the lady's drink before she would hear any more of the sickeningly sweet conversation going on between the man and the woman. When she returned to the table with the lady's drink she noticed that Jared had left. Sable looked around the room and noticed him talking to some one who had just entered the tavern.

'Hmm that kid looks familiar' thought Xaltair, still watching Jared from the shadows. He wondered where he knew him from, but couldn't pinpoint it. Getting thirsty, Xaltair approached the bar and casually leaned one arm on it, awaiting service but still aware of what was happening around the tavern. He took his hood down, it would hardly be polite to expect to be served with it up.

Xaltair's thoughts turned to the couple that were with Jared before he left the table. 'Strange fellow that one. She seems quite attentive to his affection though. More than meets the eye there I think.' Looking back to Jared and the younger man, Xaltair had to wonder what had gotten into Jared today. Company was not something Jared usually kept. Even his own acquaintance with Jared had been sparse. Xaltair continued to watch as he waited to be served.

"Thanks, that really makes me feel better," Eli said, appreciating the kind words.
Looking around, Eli said, "Well, it's getting late. I probably should get home to help out."
"See you around Mr..." Eli said rising to leave, realizing that throughout his entire conversation he hadn't once asked for the man's name.

Jared pratically jumped up from his chair when Eli mentioned how late it was. he couldn't believe he let himself get halfway intrested in this kids life based on some pathetic emotions.

Jared ran his hand through his hair as he looked towards the door. "I need to go as well." Jared stated.

As he talked every slight hint of emotion or intrest was gone. Jared nodded politely before turning and walking quickly outside and hurring down the street towards the stable.

as soon as he went inside the stable he walked over to Ares and pulled out the apple and fed in gently to him. Jared ran his hand down Ares' neck, focusing his enitre attention to the hair on Ares' neck, anything to get Liam out of his mind.

"Goodbye!" Eli called after the man.
"I should probably get going too," Eli said too himself, and then chuckled.
"I woundn't want Tallie to find out I've been sneaking off," he said as he walked out the door and stealthily made his way back to the castle.

Tallie had gone back to her room when she couldnt find Eli. She was sitting at one of her windows, useing the fading light to read by. The servants where busy running around lighting torches and candles.
She looked up intime to see some one entering the castle grounds.
'I suppose he dosent know that I know he likes to sneek off some times...Well I'll let him have his secret' Tallie thought as she put her book down and left her room.

Joseph sighed in exasperation as the girl tugged on him, pulling him closer and closer. He was trying desperately to not bite her.

"Do NOT bite her! If you do, she'll be cursed like you....Resist the smell of her blood! She's drunk, she doesn't know what she's doing!!!" Joseph shouted in his own mind.

"I'm sorry, milady....Would you like something to eat? I can order you some biscuits, or some chicken, if you would like...." he said, in his velvet voice. His voice sounded like a heavenly choir when he spoke. A sound so alluring, so mesmeric, that perhaps the entirety of the tavern were enthralled....maybe haunted by it.

(((Oops, sorry Ninja. I have no idea how I missed that post. Sorry again.)))

"No," she replied, "but a name would be nice. Anything," she added an alluring smile, "even a fake one?"

Another girl had stoped by to see if Joseph and Joleen wanted any thing to eat. She waited foor their order.

Sable noticed a man with out a drink or food waiting at the bar.
"Hello sir. Can I get you any thing to drink or eat?" she asked.

Xaltair watched Jared as he left, a little confused as to what was going on with him. Two lots of company in a short space of time was completely out of character for him. Something must be up, but asking him would probably do no good, so Xaltair did not follow. He was still trying to figure out where he had seen the young man Jared had been talking to before. Something definitely matched in his brain, but it couldn't be. Theres no way he would be allowed to walk the streets alone, and theres no way he would be dressed as he was.

The female voice knocked him out of his thoughts. He looked up and saw the bar girl standing in front of him. Xaltair wasn't a big drinker, but he liked an ale from time to time. It didn't look like much else was gonna happen today so he thought he'd relax a little. He wondered how old the girl who served him was. 'She must be 18 but she sure looks young.' He thought. And cute too. Chastising himself for having such thoughts, Xaltair smiled to the bar girl and said 'A drink would be great, thanks, any ale will do.'

"Coming right up" Sable said, he seemed nice enough so she didnt mind giving him a smile.
When she went back into the kitchen she saw Ann arguing with some one.
Sable ignored them as she fetched he ale for th man.
"Here ya are sir. Will that be all? Or would you care for some thin' to eat?" she asked as she brought the ale our to the man and set it down in from of him.

After his visit to Lord Edward's, Rahke paced the streets of the village restlessly. He tossed a coin into the bowl of a beggar without even looking at the man. Rahke continued on, unable to stop his legs moving nor his thoughts of Jared. I'll finally get my reason if he fails, Rahke thought. His hand felt for his sword, so wanting to run back to the tavern to find Jared. No, Rahke thought. He's never done anything to me. It was his--

Rahke stopped. His legs had taken him to the castle. He smirked, then set his hands on the the wall and began to climb. After a strenuous time, Rahke reached the top and rushed to a secluded, shadowed spot.

Just as he settled in and turned his attention to the castle grounds, a figure crossed it.
It looked like the prince. Rahke shook his head. No prince would sneak out of the castle in such clothes and return in stealth. He frowned. Then again, Rahke did it.

The prince readied to climb to a window above. Rahke thought of going down to kill him, but there were guards around, none of which had noticed the prince, but would hear if he screamed, and Rahke had no throwing knives. He sat back in the shadows.

((Alright, Shadow, let's see how this goes. I have a couple of things to bring up, and if you wish for me to do an edit, by all means I can :) First off, I'll say that Daga knows Morticia's name, but he'll call her Joleene, since that appears to be the name she is going by. Everything else will be in the post, and I can and will edit if necessary. *rubs hands together* Alright, time to work the magic))

The wind was rather lively as Daga Simolen made his way through the streets of the village, his cloak flapping. It was cold out, and the air smelled of salt, something he personally enjoyed. The ring on his left finger - a black, plain ring inscribed with ancient runes on the inside as well as out - felt like a band of ice, but he was not aware of it. Nor was he aware of his long black hair continuously falling back in front of his face in the shadowed oval of his hood, or of the ongoing squint his eyes had taken in the direct wind.

Daga's right hand, in a glove of black unlike his bare left hand, remained on the hilt of his longsword, scabbard and hilt alike wrapped in black cloth, the same color as the cloak about him and the clothes beneath him. It it were not for the shadowed face that observed the world as he walked from within the hood, he would have appeared with the likeness of Death himself. Black was a color favored by Daga, a color that represented the shadows and the night. He did not take it to be as of evil, but rather, as of stealth and secrecy. He had a dark personality, and a dark past, both full of secrets that only he knew in entirity.

The small tavern was just ahead, it's windows greeting him with their plesant light from within. Climbing the stairs and crossing the porch, he pushed the door open and stepped inside, pulling his cloak along so to not catch it in the retreating door. Glancing about, the common room regestered in his mind; he had been there before. Scanning the faces, his eyes fell upon Morticia Fatale, an assassin whose path crossed with his own many years prior to the present day. Silently, he made his way to the table at which she sat with others, and took an empty chair. He did not wait to be invited to the table, nor to be seated. He did things the way he wanted around her, though she could bend him to her ways if she wished it. More powerful than his sword or even his knowledge of the magic arts, she knew something deeper, something that stirred people's souls and turned them to move in her own game. She was an assassin afterall.

((Alright, there you go. All of the detail I gave about her was what he thinks of her, based upon his past experience with her))
