  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

No killing another character with out that persons permission.
No god-moding
No controling another persons character with out their permission.
And I have no clue why I'm saying this since you all know it by now.

The setting is middle ages(fantasy) towns, cities, villages....We'll be starting out at a seaside
village then most likely moving inland to a forested area or valley/mountain area.
The races you can chose from are, human, elf, dwarf, vampire, werewolf.

Explosives, such as fire arms and fire works are allowed. No cannons though, just single shot rifles, and/or fireworks, or things like

Okay so lets get started.

"We are sending one of our best, sir. You have nothing to worry about. Your problem will be taken care of." the head of the Black Waters, Lord Edward Artur, said.
"Yes well this had better not fail again. I have already tried to hire men through other....agents, but look whats happend to them. This had better be worth the price I"m paying you" Sir Huron said as he looked out the small window towards the gallows. He had been lucky that the men he sent never even knew his name or Sir Huron would be there with the failed assassins.
"Your money is well invested my lord. Quick and simple, in and out. But since the target you have chosen is very high, and well guarded, the price is also high" Drine said.
"Then I leave with confedance that you are capable, Lord Edward. I bid you good day" Huron said before leaving the room, and exit the building.
Huron breathed easyer as he heated back down the warf towards the tavern he was staying in. The leader of The Black Waters intimadated him, even though Huron was a full 2 heads taller then the captian and out weighed him.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sable had waited on the large lord, at the same table ever since he had come to the tavern. But today he looked pale and a bit unsetteled when he came in from a ride about the city. 'I wonder whats up wit him today?' she thought as she watched him go to his prefered table, it was in a back corner here the man could sit with his back to the wall and see every one who came in.
"Hullo sir, would ya like some ale and food?" she asked.
"I'll take some rum and what ever you have cooking right now." Huron said with out looking at her. He kept looking towards the door.
Sable headed back to the kitchen to get the ale.
'At least he's not flirting his guts out today' she thought as she headed back with the ale.
"Food'll be out in just a bit, sir. Its fresh clam soup and a baked potato for lunch, or we have some grilled chicken. Which'll it be" Sable asked as she set the ale down on the table.
"I'll take the chicken" He said, after a few moments. It seemed he had calmed down a bit as the colour had started to return to hi face. Sable headed once again to the kitchen.
Eli stood outside the door to his father's chambers. He was worried. After his father had fallen ill, the physicians had tried everything to make him well. They had even sent him to his summer castle in Fenorn Harbor, to expose him to the fresh sea air.
Nothing was working.
Eli knocked on the door softly, and recieved no reply. He opened the door quietly, not wanting to wake his father if he was sleeping.
"Hello?" came a weak voice from within the dark room.
"It's me father," Eli answered, walking in and closing the door behind him.
"Eli... My son..." the King called weakly, his words separated by raspy breaths, "Come here... where I can... see you."
Eli stepped forward slowly. He hated to see his father like this. His father, who had been his first sword instructor. His father, who was the mighty ruler of the nation.
His father, who was dying in his bed.
"What do the physician's say, father?"
The king gave his son a smile.
"They... put up... a mask... of hope..." he began, "but... there eyes... tell a... different story."
The king bowed his head in sadness.
"They and I... both know that... all they can do now... is make my passing... as easy as possible.
"Father!" Eli cried out in sorrow, "You mustn't say that! There is always hope! There is always a cha-"
"My son..." the king interupted. It was amazing that even now in his weakness he still had that commanding voice.
"You must... be strong... for me... and the people..."
"Father, I-"
"You... will be... king... after I am gone..."
"But father," Eli protested, "I am not ready. I can't..."
"You are... ready..." the king replied, "More ready... than I was... when I took... the throne..."
The king ended his sentence with a series of violent coughs. Eli stood up to come to his fathers aid, but the king raised his hand to tell his son all was well.
"Be kind... be wise... do not... let others use you... for their own... selfish gain..."
"I will, father," Eli confirmed.
The king smiled and closed his eyes.
"I will... be gone... soon..." he said with a tired voice, "please... leave... I don't want... my son... to have to watch... as I leave him."
Eli nodded, and without a word, stepped out and left his father for what he knew would be the last time.
Lord Edward was having dinner queitly in his chamber.
"Lord Edward, siR! House Caelin asked me to deliver a message to House Santaruz." a messenger said, bursting into the room.
Lord Edward calmly set his silverware down. "Yes, what is it?" He tried to hide the pleasure in his voice. As far as he could see, he was successful.
"The message is that the King is severely ill, and that he is on his deathbed. The heir is Lord Eli is almost complete with his royal ceremonies, and will be able to ascend the throne after his father's inevitable death. That is all." the messenger said. Lord Edward waved him away.
"....All according to plan....The king does not notice the poison that is being slipped in with his medicine.....He will die by my hand, and everyone will think it an illness....And then, on the day of the crowning ceremony, the royal bedsmaids will find Lord Eli dead, seemingly having to had committed suicide.....And then, I will become king!!" Lord Edward began to laugh, falling out of his chair.
One hundred ninety seven, one hundred ninety eight, one hundred ninety nine, two hundred.
Jared dropped down from a pole and ran his hand through his hair. Jared glanced out an open window. The sea sparkled as the sunlight rays danced along the waves with a hint of red from the rising sun. The beauty of the scene was lost on Jared, all he cared about was the position of the sun. time to go.
Jared grabbed his shirt and pulled it on before grabbing a quiver and sliding it over his shoulder. Jared started to reach for the door, but quickly pulled his hand back. Rahke, will be down there now, and he wasn’t too happy I got this job. Jared stepped back and went over to the window.
Fifteen minutes later Jared was riding out of town on his black stallion, Ares. Jared rode for about thirty minutes before he reached a small rocky out cove along the road. It was perfect, the city guard was out of sight, and everyone passed this way in and out of town. Jared walked Ares to the top of the rocks and hid him behind a group of large rocks before taking a vantage point behind some smaller ones.
The sun was past noon when he finally heard the sound of hooves in the distance. Jared pulled his bow out and knocked an arrow as he shifted into a better position. Jared quickly spied his target, there was a younger man ridding to the right of a rich carriage. There were three other guards around the carriage, they would make his job harder, but they were not unexpected. Jared picked up a rock and threw it across the road; one of the guards paused and looked towards where the rock landed. Jared threw another rock, about a stone’s throw from the first one.
“halt!” the guard yelled. The carriage rolled to a stop and the guard waved his hand towards the side of the road. “Something’s out there, Mark you go that way, I’ll take the other side. You two, stay here.” Two of the guards dismounted and left the road. Jared shifted into shooting position and pulled back his bow. His target was distracted by the two that had left, while the other one was watching the road ahead. The carriage driver was glancing around nervously, until with a gentle thud he fell sideways, dead. The other guard turned out the sound, but he was quickly dropped. Jared raised himself up slightly as he got another arrow ready. His mark was unaware that two of his friends were now dead. Jared slowly stepped out of his hiding spot and moved to where he could get a clean shot. The bow sang and his mark fell to the ground. Jared put his bow into his quiver as he took a long look at his mark. He smiled slightly as he noted his shoot, in the head, instant kill.
Jared could hear that whoever was inside the carriage getting inpatient. Jared slid down the embankment near the carriage; he would take care of the man inside later. Pulling out a knife, Jared lowered himself and followed the trail of Mark. Mark barely had time to yell, much less fight back. He saw a blur of black as Jared flew thru the air and with a swift movement yanked him around and slit his throat. Jared let the body fall, careful that no blood got on his clothes. Jared turned as he heard the last guard’s voice. “Mark? Mark did you find anything?” Jared ducked behind a rock, just as the guard rounded the corner. He stopped dead as he saw the body, but that was all he saw. Jared was on him in a second, and quickly snapped the man’s neck.
Jared quietly kneeled down and cleaned his knife, before taking a black scarf and putting it on his head. He sheathed his knife and pulled out his pistol, it was practically brand new. Jared thought it was an unfitting weapon for anyone, it was crude, inaccurate, slow and loud, but it did have its uses. Jared made his way up the carriage, and opened the door. There was an older man and his daughter inside. Jared pointed the gun at the man and said in a low rough voice, “your guards are dead; now hand over your money and me and my men will let you two live.”
The older man trembled at the sight of the gun, while the girl looked like she was about to faint. “All right, all right, Here…” he man reached into his coat pocket but instead of pulling out a money pouch, he pulled out a gun. There as a horrible bang, and the old man fell over dead.
Jared grabbed the man’s fallen gun and pointed it at the girl. “Are you going to give me any trouble?”
The girl shook her head fervently and with trembling hands pulled up a rug and opened a trap door in the floor. “Everything of value is in there, please don’t kill me.”
Jared reached in with one hand while watching the girl, he cleaned out the compartment and backed away from the carriage. “Stay in there for an hour, I hope you can ride bareback. I’ll leave one of your horses for you so you can return to the village.”
Just as he said Jared left a horse bridled and tied to the carriage, but the rest he let go before returning to Ares. As he started to leave Jared pulled off his mask and looked down at the carriage and shook his head. “foolish old man, he could still be alive and with his daughter.”
Jared and Ares thundered towards the town Jared forced his mind onto the passing scenery, anything to keep that girl’s face out of his mind. Her look of pure horror and fear when she saw her father die. Jared slowed down as he reached the edge of town and trotted past the guard, giving a friendly nod. Jared trotted down the street and headed towards the stable. As he arrived Jared slid of Ares and led him inside to his stall before rubbed him down. “You did a good job today boy,” Jared said. “You’ve earned your rest.” Jared smiled fondly at his horse before putting his bow and quiver with Ares’ saddle and heading outside.
Jared walked down the street glancing around at the people unaware of the tragedy that had happened. He pushed opened the door to the tavern and found an empty table near a wall. Jared waited calmly to be served, his expression held no trace of the crime he had committed. Now all he had to do was wait for his contact and let him know that he was done.
A man in a brown cloak entered the tavern. He appreared to be an ordinary traveller. He lingered for a moment, pretending to look for an empty table. He quietly walked over to the table Jared was at.
"....Lord Edward requests your presence at his home after sundown. He will give you your payment for the successful job, and brief you on your next mission. That is all....." the contact said, before getting up and walking out.
Jared barely nodded to the man after he addressed him. in truth Jared was glad he was getting an assignment so soon. He hated the wait inbetween jobs, when he had time to think.
Jared sat at the table for a few seconds after his contact had left, his mind wondering what his new mission could be. finaly Jared waved Sable over so he could order.
Eli sat on his bed, staring at the wall.
He hadn't been able to think of a song all day. This was generally a bad sign as far as Eli was concerned.
"I have to be strong," Eli spoke to himself, "I have to keep my promise."
Eli looked out to the window towards the evening sky.
"It's so beautiful, and not a song comes to mind," he said to himself.
"I need to get some fresh air."
Eli walked towards the window. He looked out cautiously to make sure no one was watching. If anyone found out about this, his days of sneaking out were over.
Eli smiled, seeing no one. He rushed to his closet, and pushed his way to the back, where a tattered bit of travelling clothes was. In a heartbeat, he was changed and back at the window.
Checking to make sure no one had come while he was gone, Eli jumped out of the window. He had done this so many times now that he didn't even have think about where the cracks in the wall were to make his decent.
One small jump onto the top of the castle wall and a climb down the tree later, Eli was off and ready to explore the port.
Rahke stepped into the tavern, head down and hood up, his face hidden. He quietly slunk to one side, in a shadowy corner where few would notice him. As far as the tavern knew, and most of the nation, he didn't exist. That was Rahke's business, not existed, yet interfering with those who did.
Rahke cast his eyes about the tavern. He spotted Jared speaking with Sable and Rahke's face turned into a sneer. Rahke approached them.
Rahke slid into the chair opposite Jared. "What is it I want? Nothing. I just saw that you've come back from your latest assignment. All went well, I assume." Rahke leaned forward. "But about your next mission. I just came here to tell you that you'd better not mess it up. Especially as it was supposed to be my mission. So know this: if you do mess it up," Rahke drew a finger across his throat. "I'll have your head."
He rose without another word and left the tavern even before many of the people could have noticed he was there.
Rahke kept close to the buildings as he walked down the street. He hoped his words had sunk in. If not... His hand felt the hilt of his knife beneath his cloak.
He pushed Jared's mission from his mind and went to see if he had any assignments to complete himself.
Jared didn't even blink through Rahke's tirade. it wasn't unlike him to spout out jealous remarks and want to lay claims to his jobs. Still Rahke seemed a little more up tight today, apparently his next job was a good one, maybe it was the one he'd been waiting for since he joined.
"Don't worry about that blow-hard," a sultry voice said from behind him.
She had been there a while, and, as was typical, was playing the men for free drinks. They, on the other hand, gladly filled her mug for little more than a glance and a soft touch. However, she was a bit amazed to see two of her colleges step into her bar. She knew Jared, although only from brief and passing encounters, and she never bothered to remember his name. The other, however, repulsed her, and she was only too glad to share a drink with someone who made him upset.
"Mind if I sit down?" she asked, not bothering to wait for an answer and ignoring any that was given. She sat while emptying her mug. "I'm Joleene," she said, setting her mug on the table. "So, what brings you to my bar, and whatcha do that made him so upset?"
She picked up her mug innocently and looked in it. "Oh pooh," she pouted, "I'm empty," aiming her pouty lips straight at Jared.
Jared glanced at Joleene as she sat down. he recognized her as well, but had never bothered to get to know besides her name.
"I know your name, and I wasn't aware this was 'your' bar," Jared stated unintrestingly.
Jared continued to stare back at Joleene unmoved as she gave him pouty lips. "you have money," Jared muttered.
"Thank you sir. I'll be right back with your food and drink" Sable said when Jared placed the money on the table. She took it back with her to the kitchen and gave it to her cousins wife, Anna.
"Here Anna. Keep the change, he said." Sable said, taking up a plate and gathering the things requested.
"Well he must be in a good mood today." Anna said as she turned to go pu the money up.
"We're almost out of sourdough bread. We'll have to make some more tonight" she added as Sable balanced the plate of food in one hand and took a glass of ale in the other.
