Methinks that you are optimistic if you think that changing a few words will make the rules fairly and consistently enforced.

Replacing the tires does not make the car drive with more courtesy.

That's a good point. :) But at least we can make the rules less confusing for everyone. :)

Very true, I do wonder tho how the forums will operate without all the forum specific rules ...................
Do you think this will make things easier to understand with just the main CF rules or do you envision any free for alls at first ??
The FSR did help a bit IMHO, But, They were confusing as well.
I am looking forward to seeing the changes and hopefully, Things will run much smoother.

I think that mods who have a bias towards a certain issue should be prevented on passing judgement where these issues are involved. This would go a long way to ensueing a fair application of the rules that are in place.

Not just a bias on an issue, but bias on persons.

Unfortunately it is hard to weed out these folk since there is no body that can do so - today we can only appeal to fell staff members who are ofetn friends and cohorts. We cannot even appeal to a more senior person outside of their own group.

That is why I had suggested an independent appeals body. We need objectivity if we are to try to get past this. This is why free and democratic countries have a separation of the judicial and the police. In countries where the police are judge and jury also, fairness typically goes out the window rapidly.

Sorry you misunderstood me :) - I was actually thinking exactly the opposite when I posted. There's too many rules as there is, and yes, there is a big time bias here towards some member and some topics.

I'm trying to time this with a software version upgrade as well... I'm seeing when I can get a few days off work to do all this. Thanks for being patient.

Please tell us a couple of days before you consider doing the forum updates, for I'm sure you will need some SERIOUS prayer when doing that, and I'm sure much of CF will be willing to rally round and pray for you as you do it!

Timothy (I'm dreading upgrading my small 50+ forum members vBulletin, I hate to think what one this size would have, havoc wise...)
