If I'd been in your shoes, I would have said, "Yes, we do know what condoms are. We're thrilled at the chance to become parents, and we know that we're going to love this child with all that we have," and just smiled.

You can be kind and polite and still stick up for yourself

With us, because we both have Asperger's Syndrome, we're told that we should never have children, that we are being irresponsible for even considering it because we don't need more Autistic children running around...
Guess what people? A lot of people who brought us the technology to be on this forum are somewhere on the Autism spectrum. Even ADHD is considered to be on this spectrum now. It's not as much a disorder (except where the child is legitimately low functioning) as it is a different way of thinking.

At any rate for us it seems a moot point, as I've miscarried three times in the past year. I don't think we'll be having children, but people should learn how to keep their thoughts to themselves. It's not their business whether we have children or not.

Very true, thats the nature of some people though is to try to control others. Through manipulation, embarasment, scare tactics. It happens alot on this very forum.

I just wouldn't mind the comments if it didn't effect my girl. but it is, sarah cried about it last night, if you make my wife cry, it's a problem

I won't say what I would do/say if someone made my wife cry in front of me. Let's just say I can have a *vicious* sense of humor and leave it at that.


As to what to do now, shower her with things she loves. Ice cream, chick flicks...whatever it takes bro. And keep it coming. It's all about her now.
