I have been playing FFX, and what is with all these cut scenes all the time?

That's how those types of RPGs tell the story since they tend to be more linear and have a set overall story.

I haven't played a FF game in a long time. After FF7, FF8 & 9 were boring to me. Now I stick to the eldar scrolls series, all first person w/ the option of 3rd, and complete freedom. The maps are huge, and your not restricted by a storyline. You 'can' follow the main story at your own discretion, and the side stories going on have a lot more quests than just the main quest. You can also pick up, move, and interact with nearly everything.

The new one, Oblivion, will probably be the best RPG ever. If you haven't you should watch the trailers. The graphics are mind blowing, and there is 16 square miles of open landscape plus tons of dungeons, buildings, and caves. The AI also act just like real people, only the trailers can describe what I mean by that.

I don't mind linear at all. I mind not playing the game and just watching it so much. Which is one of the reasons I hated Xenosaga. I don't want to sit and watch. I want to interact.
