Root Beer

I do like Root Beer. But the kind I really liked as a kid is no longer available. It was made on-site at a stand (Smokey's) in my home town of Buchanan MI, right next to the entrance to the parking lot of one of the Clark Equipment plants, and across the street from the much-inferior A&W stand. When he ("Smokey") died in the early 1970s, his recipe went with him.

Actually...it was a Mug...I prefer Barq's or A&W, but Mug was all they had. It was still good, seeing as it was the only root beer I could get. ...

uh no, but I like ginger beer.
I don't know what root beer is, I don't think we have it here. What roots is it made of? Is this just a random question? Does it matter if we like it or not? Will we get a thesis of how significant root beer is to our well being?

It used to be made from the sassafras. but it contains safrole which causes cancer and liver damage. so root beer is now completely artificially flavored.

On that note, you should add some milk to your diet...

actually, there is a lot of research to say that milk is not so good for you (assuming you are speaking of cow milk?)

I have been drinking a lot of root beer in the last year because it does not have caffeine in it and I have sleeping issues.

I drink mostly Sam's (Wal-Mart) brand but if you want a high quality root beer drink IBC root beer. As a kid I drank it often.
