CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
Romantic relationships in this and the next life

I also always kind of feel a bit disappointed when people say that the love between Christian brothers and sisters and love between yourself and Jesus is "better" than that of a husband and wife, or that they are "more intimate"
It's different rather than better, apples and oranges. You love God, your mother and father, your spouse, your children, your siblings and your friends all in different ways. Loving God doesn't replace loving your mother because they're different kinds of love, loving God doesn't fulfill a desire to love a spouse or children, because they are different kinds of love.
and sorry but sidehugs and handshakes certainly don't sound "more intimate" than sex. The very nature of a side hug is to keep distance between you and your christian brother or sister, not be closer and more intimate. Christians do side hugs because they fear the intimacy of a full on embrace.
So if romantic love is not a part of heaven it is not superseded because you have love of God and love of Christian brothers and sisters, romantic love is just missing, and romantic intimacy is just missing.
You have alternatives but not full replacements.
God promises we'll have joy and pleasure despite that.
But I still feel like I'm missing out.
