Ben still hasn't answered. I have to conclude it's because he can't. Therefore, his silence is a concession that I have refuted his doctrine on this point.

Let the record show that Ben has been refuted. God ordains and uses the sinful acts of men to bring about His Purpose, and Will.

Hammster is sqeakin' again! (lol)
Howdy Hammy!
Nice to see ya.
Good scripture.
Thanks. Good to be remembered. I just had to take some time away from CF and get right with Jesus. But I see some of the hateful speech hasn't diminished. Too bad. We should be able to debate these things in love.

As a kid, hate-speech was a game.
Fights were cheap entertainment.
I'll be headin' out later this week for
a South-Prairie rendevous with my mom & her two sisters. They're gonna put grandma's ashes in her hometown. I missed her funeral in Florida, but I can't miss this. the three sisters will be spendin' the rest of the day rememberin' her, and I got a few (hundred)questions. Incredibly interesting women, all.
Looks like I can get a 4-banger fer $20 a dayw/250mi free. I'm a little less than 500 mi away.
Mom's not doin' well, either. I might not get to see her again if I don't go now. She's agreed to move to a Independant Living place in the fall & stop driving.
I'm surprised she's still alive. They took a piece of her liver off last year, & now the cancer is scrapin' against her pancreas... all they can do is give her pain medicine.
If She can't make it to Missouri, I'm gonna go on down to Tuscon & spend some time with her.
Hambone,
maybe we can throw in stuff like this once in a while to splash some cold water of reality on our petty emotional baggage we drag in here.
Just don't lose focus, or it will make things worse.
I dunno.
But God willing, I bet we can beat it.

Rick --- a thousand times a day I wish I had access to technology that could cure things like cancer. I wish I could "fix" people, bodies and souls. There is so much pain in this world --- why do bad things happen to good people? I don't know the answer. I don't have the power to fix them. All I can understand, is that the world is still fallen, and Jesus is still Lord.

There is a great conflict in my heart; I long for the day when Jesus returns, and all our absent family and loved-ones will come back to us. Sorrows will be gone, sickness, suffering --- will be fading bad memories. We will serve the Creator, with joy. Songs will ring from our hearts, and every moment will be filled with happiness. This is our hope, and our confidence. It is our certainty.

And my heart wants Him to DELAY His return, that more people can come to know Him before it's too late. WHY won't they believe? I can't make them believe in Him either. It seems that most often they must hit "bottom", before they can really look "up" and see Him.

If I could, I would repair your Mom. But the best I can do, is to pray for you, and to try to comfort you. In this fallen world, no one avoids death. Yet our reality, is Jesus; so prayer is acceptible. He will return, and we all will be "fixed". So I pray for you, and for your family; that all will grow close to Him, looking for the day when He returns and everything will be healed. I pray for a safe journey for you; that no disaster befall you, that you will have quality time with your family.

That's the best I can do; and it's reality that I desire to give you the best that I can.

God bless you and keep you and yours.

There's a record somewhere? I wanna see that! :D
Apparently, Ben has chosen to concede the discussion, and avoid admitting that his theology cannot account for these things. His avoidance does not change the fact that he is wrong on these points, and his theology suffers because of it.
Hah hah hah! That's rather funny! :D

This thread is "Rom2" --- where Paul says, "Do you count on God's patience and kindness and forebearance, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to REPENTANCE? But by your stubborn and unrepentant heart you are storing up WRATH (from God) for yourself in the day of Judgment..."

And somehow you still hold to "predestination", which usually asserts "sovereign-God-gifted-repentance". Instead of understanding Paul's words to be: "God's kindness and patience is S'POSED to make you REPENT, but you won't and it's makin' God MAD!"

I mean no offense; I just can't understand how you can still hold to "predestination".
God utilizes the wicked deeds of sinners to achieve His Righteous and Just purposes...
UTILIZES, yes...
and ordains the actions of all men to that end.
...ORDAINS, no! God cannot tempt, cannot cause-to-sin, cannot do anything evil. Can we agree on that?

Last night I had no internet; it just sat there trying to load, for hours. I tried doing a "defrag", but then found other sites worked. I'll get back to those "three Scriptures" (at least one of which I've already fully refuted --- you seem to have missed it).

...and I still wanna see that "record"; because it will show that Ben has refuted so many points of Reformed Theology, so many times...

;)

Hi, Cygnus. If I've never said it before, it's always a pleasure to "see" you. You and I have agreement on many things; it's gonna be fun, the great talks we'll have, when Jesus returns. You have a heart that belongs to God; and it's an honor to call you "brother".

:)

& thank you, Ben.
Bad things happen because it works for the good of those who love Him.
When my wife had her brain surgery, people were a little uncomfortable that I didn't show enough emotional distress.
Not sure why I'm that way, but I remember how upset seeing an upset adult used to make me.
I broke out in itchy scabby hives all over my body, except where my clothes left my skin exposed.
I remember thanking God everytime the pain got bad enough to keep me from thinking about my wife.

I am with you, Brother. My wife has gone through a lot over the past 10 years and I remember my mom chastising me because she thought we were being too aloof about it.

I told her that it is all in God's hands anyway, so why worry?

And Ben, bad things don't happen to good people because there are no good people (Rom 3).

However, good things happen to bad people. Praise God for that.

After a thorough examination by Arminian church officials, Bob was found to be only "slightly dead" in trespasses and sins.

Cygnus, that's some major REP power!

A favorite activity at the recent Calvinist pastors' retreat: calling up Arminians and asking, "Is your refrigerator running?"

That Bob guy --- thinks he's so smart, but I can see RIGHT THROUGH him.

Bob's wife was embarrased when he came out of her closet.

His wife said, "I locked you out!"
Bob said, "Don't worry, dear --- I have my skeleton key!!!

Some people are shy about their Christianity; but Bob made no bones about it.

Bob wanted to apply for company Vice-president; but he HAD NO GUTS!!!

"Honey, does this suit make me look fat?"

Bob had a great sense of humor, and never minded when someone gave him a ribbing...

"See, dear? Your mother was WRONG about me being spineless...."

(Oh I got a million of 'em...)
