I see His blood alone. I see faith alone in His blood alone.

Do you like Peter and the Church?

Mt. 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Jn. 6:69 And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.

Book of Romans is a fairly deep book to be concentrating on just one verse :sorry:

http://www.christianforums.com/t7364825-49/#post52269678

Some very interesting greek words used in this verse and wish I had time to study some of these a little deeper.
#2435 used 2 times, here and in Hebrew 9:5.

3:25 whom placed-before the God a propriatation/expiatory/ilasthrion <2435> thru the faith in the, of the blood, into demonstrating/proving of the righteousness of Him thru/because of the passing-over/remission before-having-become sin

Search for 'Genesis 1:1' in the version

Textus Rec.) Romans 3:25 on proeqeto o qeoV ilasthrion dia *thV* pistewV en tw autou aimati eiV endeixin thV dikaiosunhV autou dia thn paresin twn progegonotwn amarthmatwn

Strong's Number G2435 matches the Greek ἱλαστήριον (hilastērion), which occurs 2 times in 2 verses in the Greek concordance of the KJV

2435. hilasterion hil-as-tay'-ree-on neuter of a derivative of 2433; an expiatory (place or thing), i.e. (concretely) an atoning victim, or (specially) the lid of the Ark (in the Temple):--mercyseat, propitiation.

My dear brother, perhaps we need a definition of "blood", obviously Paul is talking the cross, where he saw all as done. Gal 3:1, eph 2:14-15 and here...

Paul warded off all externals in those churches. Nothing added...while speaking of the cross, the blood..

Colossians 1:20
and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.

Absolutely! Are you saying that this is evidence against faith alone? Baptism and the Sacrament of the Altar are means through which God continually pours out his gift of saving faith upon us.

Rom 3:25-26 (ESV)
(3:25) whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. (3:26) It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

an angel and a saint both told me that faith is the beginning and Love is the end and so how could faith be the full measure? if you have the Holy Spirit of Faith then I would say you are doing well. and from here I will just ramble or rather quote what paul speaks, since it shows us the growing process.

Eph 4:13-25 (ESV)
(4:13) until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, (4:14) so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. (4:15) Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, (4:16) from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. (4:17) Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. (4:18) They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart. (4:19) They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity. (4:20) But that is not the way you learned Christ!- (4:21) assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, (4:22) to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, (4:23) and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, (4:24) and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness. (4:25) Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another....

Ok so what is going on here? The blood provided Justification as demonstration of the sacrifices in early jewish history which was a symbolic act to represent heavenly events. Having faith in the blood and the one from which the blood spilled provides an access to righteousness as it requires a step of faith. Just like Abraham was accredited righteousness by having faith that God would do as He would promised.

Thank you for bringing some other versions of the text to the table.

The sacraments are harder to see in them... would you agree?

Forgive me...
