Is there a school where one learns to be an arbiter of what racism is?
This Professor might’ve gotten a grant to study if race impacts our society in what is “acceptable romance“ (or not) and found that it did.
She’ll probably gin up more grants to base further research on.
Win-win.
Sounds like she's just trying to gin up more money fir her bogus research. What a race hustler. Everytime someone dies "research" regarding racism and a particular topic you know what they find? Racism. I don't find that credible. Everything isn't racist. I bet if she was given money to find out if water is racist she'd find that too.

(Fresh) Water is going to be the next thing that “OH GOODNESS, WE’RE RUNNING OUT OF!”, so you may be correct in about 70 years?

Black culture didn't have the stigma of carrying extra weight that white's possessed. Not were they penalized for being too large in the dating market to the degree the others were. The same held true with children. Overconsumption was ignored or indulged.

During my teens it was evident the food was the culprit and its preparation. High blood pressure and cholesterol were common. Diabetes hadn't exploded. But I determined to eat differently and watched PBS and The Food Network and learned how to cook. I adopted a french approach to food and never looked back.

Mindset is a factor but few will admit the truth because it isn't politically correct and may hurt some people's feelings. Disordered eating won't go unchecked for long when the results disgust you. As long as you're okay with the extra weight it'll come. But if you're revolted and the idea of going beyond your standard is unacceptable your body will comply and support your restraint.

No amount of fat acceptance or body positivity would sway you. You'll employ various methods of mental and behavioral conditioning to maintain the position. It isn't difficult to lose weight. It's hard to see your reflection and disagree and do something about it. We're more likely to make excuses, downplay the problem or ignore it.

It's easier to do when you're in an environment where the same holds true or interacting with people who share your beliefs. That extends to the things you watch and enjoy. There's a healthy movement underway on the Internet. It's more holistic and lifestyle focused than before. Women have taken an aesthetic approach and created themes. The most popular is #thatgirl, #pilatesprincess and #cleangirl.

I started watching #thatgirl videos a few years ago and they resonated immediately. She's into wellness, healthy eating, fitness, self-care and productivity and she's disciplined. That inspires me. I watch things like that everyday and it reinforces my headspace and compels me to do more. I love #pilatesprincess for similar reasons and I've moved towards my goal faster than expected.

I acknowledge that with the understanding the majority don't live that way and are unlikely to be that thin. But I don't view it as a racial dilemma. It's a question of priorities and convictions.
