Yea, and the ISIS are really nice people, as they behead children while the parents watch. You are a naive peacenik.

As were the Romans and the Pharisees and all those who murdered our Lord and Apostles, and the Catholics who were quite familiar with all the best methods of torture, yet Jesus forgave them all for their godless behavior. But, it seems that no lessons have been learned, the Lord's words have gone unheeded by those who are hell bent on killing someone. Peacenik, you bet, because I follow my Lord; what lord are you following who love killing?

Revelation 17 describes the harlot church which is the Roman church and the daughters of the harlot which are the protestant churches who came out of her.
Only you have the truth.

Truly, only God has the absolute truth since God is the truth.
So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 3 This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the mana Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time. 7 For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.

Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the sake of the faith of God's elect and their knowledge of the truth, which accords with godliness, 2 in hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began 3 and at the proper time manifested in his word through the preaching with which I have been entrusted by the command of God our Savior;

For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins . . .

I write to you, not because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and because no lie is of the truth.

The RC's are the largest denomination..but they do not follow the Bible in many instances, is that wrong?
We follow the Bible in all instances, we just don't isolate the Bible from Tradition and the Magisterium, the BIBLICAL rule of faith.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Catholicism and I should know. I'm a Catholic. To suggest there is ,would be deeply hurtful to not only me but thousands of other Catholics. We may take ourselves seriously sometimes but hey, we're not the only denom. to do that. As you have to agree, the RCC has all the answers and is the foolness of truth. What we lack in Bible literacy we make up for with clergy scandals.

Read Exodus 20. That's just a generalization. The whole Ten Commandments is much larger than the left example. It wraps up all the examples of coveting into one exhaustive 10th commandment.
Let's see if I've got this right. You present an example of the commandments on the left as definitive, yet the whole is "much larger than the left example". So (given your prior objection to Catholics 'doing away' and 'adding to') Read Exodus 20. You've just explained how the first and second on the left are collected into the first on the right. Pretty neat, huh? No-one, therefore has removed anything. It just "wraps up all the examples of strange gods, graven images, and idols into one exhaustive commandment". What's good for the goose...

I repeat, where are you getting this nonsense from?

Would you like me to make a meme of it?

I will testify that this is what has been taught. Gut wrenching subject.

All Catholic doctrines are found either explicitly or implicitly in Scripture. An unbiblical Catholic doctrine does not exist.

This is rather a circular argument, if you include explicit and implicit. Anything can be considered implicit to Scripture, given enough imagination.

A far better measure, imo, is integrity of belief with Orthodoxy. On this basis there are indeed Catholic teachings which the Orthodox church does not recognise, and which it is probably fair to regard as pious constructions upon what is written. Every single church, every denomination has such pious constructions.

None of which really bothers me; none of us gets to eternity because of the purity of our doctrine. We get there because of our love of God and our neighbour.

Is what God directly commanding you, or the Israelites mattering to you? A lot of us grew up focusing ourselves on these 10. Out values and anxieties, choices and struggles hang on them. All people, all conduct, and what does a little "covet your neighbors wife" change? Is this a translation issue?

Deuteronomy 4:2
Romans 2:13 to yours.

Are you a Seventh-Day Adventist, I take it? (I find the day in which I worship to be trivial. The day in which I worship is whenever I can.)
Is it biblical to be as indifferent as you are about what day one ought to rest and commune with God?

I'll give you that. However, it doesn't address the real issue.

To say that the RCC doesn't believe in the Bible would be wrong, that's true. But she insists that there is something else that is as authoritative as the Bible. If you think that way, you are automatically casting doubt upon the completeness, or relevance, or the sufficiency of the Bible.
Getting agreement about what's supposed to be included in the bible is too difficult for Christians so how much harder is it to credibly claim that the bible is complete and sufficient?

The Catholic Church distorts the Ten Commandments, taking the second one out and duplicating the tenth one.
The Vatican web site lists the ten commandments like this:
  • THE FIRST COMMANDMENT

I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself a graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them or serve them. Ex 20:2-5; cf. Deut 5:6-9.
It is written: "You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve." Mt 4:10.
  • THE SECOND COMMANDMENT

You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain. Ex 20:7; Deut 5:11.

You have heard that it was said to the men of old, "You shall not swear falsely. . But I say to you, Do not swear at all. Mt 5:33-34.
  • THE THIRD COMMANDMENT

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work; but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God; in it you shall not do any work. Ex 20:8-10; cf. Deut 5:12-15.
The sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath; so the Son of Man is lord even of the sabbath. Mk 2:27-28.
  • THE FOURTH COMMANDMENT

Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which the Lord your God gives you. Ex 20:12; Deut 5:16.

He was obedient to them. Lk 2:51.
  • THE FIFTH COMMANDMENT

You shall not kill. Ex 20:13; Cf. Deut 5:17.

You have heard that it was said to the men of old, "You shall not kill: and whoever kills shall be liable to judgment." But I say to you that every one who is angry with his brother shall be liable to judgment. Mt 5:21-22.
  • THE SIXTH COMMANDMENT

You shall not commit adultery. EX 20:14; Deut 5:18.
You have heard that it was said, "You shall not commit adultery."
But I say to you that every one who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Mt 5:27-28.
  • THE SEVENTH COMMANDMENT

You shall not steal. EX 20:15; Deut 5:19; Mt 19:18.
  • THE EIGHTH COMMANDMENT

You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. EX 20:16; Cf. Deut 5:20.

It was said to the men of old, "You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform to the Lord what you have sworn." Mt 5:33.
  • THE NINTH COMMANDMENT

You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant, or his maidservant, or his ox, or his ass, or anything that is your neighbor's. Ex 20:17.

Every one who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Mt 5:28.
  • THE TENTH COMMANDMENT

You shall not covet ... anything that is your neighbor's....

You shall not desire your neighbor's house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant,, or his ox, or his ass, or anything that is your neighbor's. EX 20:17; Deut 5:21.

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Mt 6:21
It looks like there4 are in fact ten commandments in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Nothing is missing. The numbering is different. It follows the example set by St. Augustine.

I have no idea how they can twist the scripture in regards to graven images so they can sculpt, y'know, graven likenesses of Mary and the saints.

I make no defense for the Protestants except that they learned from the best, after all they were only recently Catholics; their mother was a murderer. Will you now try and convince me that to mention your costume is a non-sequitur reply, you are sadly mistaken. Most people are blind to the fact that they are in love with the idea of killing and chaos. Look around! All the best games, movies, TV programs are based on pain, the occult, distress, tragedy, war, and if their excitement has no blood shed or human suffering it is boring. Your costume very much makes a statement of where your heart is. Even in conversations such as this, it is not enough to win, we must be overly painful in our words. It is a condition of the heart. Satan cares little whether we are Catholic or Protestant, he loves a good fight. Having said that, I give the fight to you.
