The CC is not perfect, but neither am I. The CC is run by sinners, as I myself am. The CC has made mistakes, just like me. The CC has battled many a mighty storm, just like humanity itself. The Holy Spirit guided the church through all its troubles, cutting through the high seas.
It is still afloat! Others have tried to sink it but have failed. This is why it is the true church of Christ. Unsinkable.
Not always. Some of the most controversial doctrines are based upon Tradition instead of Scripture and have no Biblical basis whatsoever. They are defended by the unprovable claim that such was what the Apostles taught--or the church since its beginning--ergo, they must be true.

Pope Pius XII, in Munificentissimus Deus (1950), defined that Mary, "after the completion of her earthly life" (note the silence regarding her death), "was assumed body and soul into the glory of heaven."Better dust off your catechism. That's not a Catholic doctrine.
What you are saying is your religious organization has the same moral standards as the world, and the worldy schools etc...that sure explains the misconduct and other deviations from the Christian walk.

Nah. Its junk history and bunk theology. I can understand why you find it attractive though.
The post I quoted said that our Blessed Mother ascended into Heaven. Memo to sola scripturists: reading comprehension matters.
Goatee didn't say anything about the test of time. He talked about the Church surviving the storms that have been constantly thrown at her. A mere human institution would have collapsed a long time ago, and we would all be Arians.Islam has survived almost 1500 years so by your logic that must be of God too.
Zoroastrianism has been around for over 3500 years so that must be of God too.
For that matter Judaism has been around for 4,000 years so truly God that is an acceptable way as well.
Point being just because something has stood the test of time does not mean it is of God. That is a very human way of thinking.
Isn't that what the post confirmed?

You said.............
The post I quoted said that our Blessed Mother ascended into Heaven.
Can you explain the difference in those two comments?
A 2000 year teaching magisterium of which the gates of hell have not prevailed.
If it's not from Heaven. Let it fall.
